Ive known Louis Littman since we went to high school in Miami. One day I got a message on Facebook telling me that he was looking for people who were interested in investing in the stock market. He said he worked in a big financial institute called Davidson Kempner Capital Management which is a global institutional investment management firm with approximately $21.3 billion in assets in New York, where I reside. As my parents had mentioned to me that they had some money to invest so we decided to have dinner to discuss matters further. At the dinner he explained to me that through his job as a financial advisor he had access to privileged information in his company.
He also claimed to be a very good friend Marvin Davidson who was one of the owners. He told me he wanted to put a good sum of his own investments in an account under my name. I asked why and he responded that he could not use it under his name because he could be investigated for insider trading.
I refused because I know how serious insider trading is and I didnt want any problems with the law. When I refused he propose to me a different investment he told me that his father Eric Littman an Attorney in Miami had a very good investment in a company where he was a shareholder of MEDIJANE a medical company in the marijuana business that had very high return. This seemed a very legitimate and interesting proposal so we went to Miami and met his father Eric Littman who claimed to own 15.000.00 shares of MEDIJANE. My parents had given me a cashier check for the amount of US$165,000 and Eric Littman gave me 200.000 shares. The stocks were doing very well for a couple months but later I learned that it would have an extreme amount of sales and the stock had extreme drops in value. I got alarmed and I tried to call Louis and his father but they did't answer phone calls and e-mails. We still have my stocks but now they are worthless. http://seekingalpha.com/article/2230513-medijane-prime-to-attract-regulator-attention-amid-slew-of-red-flags
My parents and I learned later that Eric Littman was involved in several frauds against investors http://www.sec.gov/litigation/litreleases/lr19541.htm and Louis was fired from Centerbridge Partners for insider trading. I did a report to the SEC and they fined Eric Littman (owning 15M shares of MJMD) for unregistered stock sales in a shell company he owned that the SEC claimed was part a pump and dump but I am not so sure if my parents they will get their money back.
The evidence exists within the public forums, Eric and Louise Littman are not to be trusted. I would strongly advise anyone who is an investor, or considering getting involved with such ventures with them.
