I was interested in this agency because they do criminal background checks so they say. I located this service online. I tried researching but I never found anything bad. At the timw I didn't know it was called alot of other names especially "Great Expectations" which has 244 bad reviews on the internet. I was called several times before I met at the 1320 Main Street Columbia SC 29201 location. It was in a gorgeous building high dollar facility. I entered and was greeted and told to have a seat. Brittany would be with me shortly. Brittany approaches from the back. She introduces me and has me fill out a questionaire. All I remember it asking was what age group I was interested in. It asked for a major credit card for i.d. purposes only. After completing the questionaire Brittany asked me for that card and said she would be back. It was being used for identification purposes. Next Brittany asked me to follow her to a private office. During this session she described the company. I remember her asking mewhat I was looking for in a relationship. I basically told her a Christian that has a descent income and indepenent like myself. Brittany told me only Chritians were on their site and there are no homosexual, bisexual or married people were allowed on their site. Brittany said they check on that. Also this is the only dating service that requires a criminal background check on all its members. In addition Brittany told me to read this laminated paper about a woman who was murdered because she used a dating site that did'nt run checks. So Brittany and I talked. She asked why was I single? I told her my husband died in a car accident and I have tried dating but I wasn't having good luck. Fourth, Brittany told me she would call me with a member code but I would have to write down a password and I would be able to access the site after that so I could look even though my pictures weren't on it. Then Brittany said for me to pick out of these pictures what events I liked best of speed dating, whitewater rafting, ziplining, lock and key. I said all of those. Brittany also said there are dating events in Columbia once a month. I asked her how many usually attend?. Brittany answered about 25 went to Wet Willies in the Vista downtown Columbia last month. Thirdly Brittany came up with a paper showing me three different packages. I looked in shock. I saw big figures 3490.00 for 12 months 4500.00 I think for 24 months, and even more for the the last package. I sat there staring. I felt my face turn red. Then I said to Brittany no thanks I will think about it and call you back. Thats when she said wait Ill be back. Then she left and came back. She said I can offer you the last package for the 36 months at the same price as the first. I hesitated. I said finally. Well I guess but the only reason is I trust youBrittany. You seem honest otherwise I would think this is a scam. Brittany had me read over the paper. She said that it was binding as soon as it was signed. I signed and gave her my card. She said it was paid in full verbally and on my contract. No addtional fees were told. I set up an appointment for the photographer session in two weeks. Later I met the photographer on that date. Brittany was present at the same location. The picture and video were done. However the photographer named Ray Kenner who says hes a professional photographer from Charlotte informs me that additional money has to be paid to in order to become a member. He nor Brittany discussed this prior. I knew I was trapped. I told him I couldn't afford the service. So he said he would allow me to split up the payment. I told him I didn't want it all on my credit card. I told him I would pay by check 300.00 that day. He told Brittany to walk me to my car as I said I leave a checkbook there. ZlRay said to Brittany at that second to start me so I could get access. Brittany replied ok to Ray. As Brittany and Iwalked ,Brittany said to me she was offering me an additional 200.00 off if I can pay the rest of that by next 5 days. I told her I would try but I don't want all that on my card. In addition, I just put a notice in to my job so I didn't know if this next job I was interviewing with would hire me. I was taking a chance. Brittany continued calling me. She asked did I work out the money. I said not yet until I finally decided in order to save that money she offered I would use my credit card again. So I did. Later I went home and saw that my membership wasn't activated. I started freaking out. I started researching the company and saw a b.b.b.report. So I called bBrittany. I was fuming. I said on her v.m to the business phone that my membership still wasn't activated ans that I had just read the B.B.B. complaint and this better not be a scam . Brittany never called back. Then I checked the next day and it was up. So the first event was Sunday and I decided to go after church. It was at Libertys at the Marina on the lake. Only 4 guys and 2 ladies including me were the seekers. It was a descent timw. I tried ti connect with one but he said no to me on the site. The next event was bowling. 10 peoplw showed. Abiut 6 women and 3 men. I asked a lady what she paid for the membership. She told me about 5000.00 I asked two guys and they both said 500.00 total for 6 months. I said to them I was never offered that. I was sick about that. I thought it was unfair. I went to another event. It was in Charlotte. It was expensive to eat there. All I had was a small glass of wine. It was a good speach by a man named Nate who wrote a book on relationships and expectations. I didn't notice any guy I would eant to date. There were only four guys and 10 women there. So I kept trying to find guys to date on the site. Almost all either said No or would not respond at all. The rule is if they don't respond after 60 days they get booted from the site and lose their money. Well most were padt 60 days and showed active still. I even left a message telling Brittany that to at least try to gey me a response on those one by one once a week. Still no call from Brittany nor response from any of those. I signed up in March. My grandmother became very sick and was hospitalized. I decided since I didnt have a job I needed to go be with her. I had to leave and go 423 miles away. I was gone 9/10/2014 til 10/05/2014. She ended up dying 10/12/2014. I thought she was gonna live so I left thinking that. Well I havent used the service especially after that. So I decided to contact my credit card. I explained in a six page letter the issue. It was ruled a valid charge. Now my income is reduced by half. I can't find work in my feild and im paying a mortgage on top of all these other bills. I would love to stop paying this debt to the credit card. My credit score is 851 which is pretty much closr to perfect. I sometimes struggle so much I can't buy food. So if anyone is able to help stop this from continuing I would be sooo relieved. My blood pressure has gone up from all this. Thank you!
