Hired Donald Claire for painting and carpeting job. Stated he required 1/2 payment for work after he completed day 1 work (which was supposed to be 1/2 the work).
He showed up for the first day, spent 3 hours painting and completed about 1/2 the painting work (1/4 total job work), but clearly had intent not to finish. The place needed about 10 gallons, but he showed up with 6 - which was all previously bought left overs from other jobs(at his own admission).
He called me after he spent 2 hours there to come back and pay him, when he took me through and showed me all the things they did do - trying to distract from what they didnt (all base boards, 1/2 of molding and clair rails, and 4 of 8 windows), and 1/2 of second bedroom walls. He claimed they ran out of paint, and started making a punch list of the items promised to be completed the following day (missing about 1/2 of them). I paid him as the contract had indicated with his promise to come back and complete the whole job the following day.
He made excuses for not coming back for about a week, and then fell of the face of the earth. Took the money and didnt finish the work.
In looking at what was completed, it was clear that he watered the paint on one floor down so much that it had to be redone completely - which shows the intent of his ripoff. Donald is a true scumbag, thief and criminal. DO NOT HIRE HIM..
Don Clair (Donald W Clair) was hired to repair the roof. $4000 job. He demanded $2000 in advance. Since he had done minor work for me before, and I knew where he lives, I gave him half the payment. He worked one day, ripped my roof, and left it open. I must have made over 100 calls, 500 messages, he never showed up again. Its been 2 months, and my building has suffered substantial damage dua to roof being left open. Now taking him to camden court and filing a police report to cover all damages and compensate for my time loss.
DO NO THIRE HIM. HE IS A LIAR AND HIGHLY UN-PROFESSIONAL.
