My son's Durango overheated. We had it towed to Crown to have it repaired. After a week of having the car we TRIED to pick it up on Friday August 1st. When the tech brought it around we could hear it coming and when my husband walked over to tech he laughed saying it stalled on him, gave my husband the keys and walked off. Roger started the car, the check engine light was on!!!
We talked with service manager who agreed to give us a loaner since we had already been out of a car for a week. Three weeks went by and we finally got the car back. I drove it home and parked it. The following sunday I started to drive it back to nashville for my son to exchange cars with me. I had been driving an hour and the car started to overheat again. Pulled over, let the car cool (happened to be less than 3 miles from Crown) and drove back to dealer. Waited 2 hours for a ride home!!
The sales manager happened to be there, he told me and my son 'that service department better get their act together or we're going under, they are having lots of problems with their service" We left and waited for them to fix car again. We received a bill for almost $1500 bringing our total to approximately $1750 for both repairs
We drove the car home again, but one exit before getting home, the car overheats again! leaving us stranded on the side of the highway for almost two hours again!
At that point we lost all confidence as we were told "three technicians had walked off the job and the foreman was fired during our service with them" We took the car to a dealership in Cartersville. Gary, Josh and Matt at the Loere Dodge (770) 382-5885 have all told us they question the repairs done and things they should have done to prevent this car from overheating 2 more times.
I have spoken to several mechanics and each has told me "everytime that car overheats, it probably does damage somewhere else, the car will probably never run the same!"
The Crown service manager and techs offered us no relief and basically took our money giving us the car back or in worse condition than when we took it in! I'm filing a report with the BBB as well. These guys are crooks
