In January 2014 I purchased a custom made cowboy hat from Lee J. Keltner of Crossfire Hats at the National Western Stock Show. Lee told me my hat would be completed in March 2014. I called Lee in March and he gave me a big sob story. He said his business partner left the company. He said that he did not have the money to purchases the materials to make my hat.
I was not happy I already paid Lee $1000.00 for my hat, and now he said he can't afford to buy the materials!! What did he do with the money he was paid. I called Lee in May, he gave me the same sob story, but this time he wanted me to come to his office so that he could re measure my head. When I arrived Lee was not there. When he arrived he pulled up on a very nice Harley Davidson!!! He re measured me and told me that he would have the hat done in June.
June came and went and no word from Lee. So I called Lee in July, he again told me that he could not afford to purchase the materials to make my hat! I continued to call Lee every month, and he gave me the same sob story. Finally in January 2015, Lee told me my hat was done and that I could pick up at his booth in the Denver Coliseum at the National Western Stock Show. I went to the NWSS and I walked around the coliseum and I could not find his booth. I tried calling him and his number was disconnected. So I want to the office of the National Western Stock Show to find out where his booth was. They told me that Crossfire Hats no longer had a booth. So I told them what happened, they told me that I wasn't the first person to come in with the same story. They told me that Lee was kicked out of the show due to him ripping off so many people.
I tried calling Lee a few days later, this time his phone number worked. He gave me this sob story that the National western stole his booth from him and that the NWSS was trying to ruin his business! I think Lee is doing a good job ruining his business all by himself. After reading the other 4 reports here on Rip off reports, I now see I'm, not the first person he has ripped off and sadly I won't be the last.
Maybe Lee should sell his Harley Davidson so he could have the money to buy the materials for all the hats he hasn’t made for his customers. Be aware Lee Keltner will promise you the moon and just steal your money!!
