I bought a new phone on september 22,2014 a Nokia 1320 for 300.00 and the phone was defective. I only used the phone for two weeks. Cricket said I had to mail the phone to their warehouse to check for damages and they would send me a replacement. After 10 days Cricket send me a refurbished phone. Cricket said they only replace their phones with refurbished phones. I paid the full price for a new phone. Avernia Waddle, Houston, TX
I spoke with 3 cricket customer service specialist today beacause me cell phone will not make outgoing calls. I explained to them what happened and they told me that my line is being restricted and they don't know the reason.
My bill is current and they didn't see any problem as of why I couldn't dial out, so they placed me on hold for 30 mins at a time and then said that I would have to cancel my current line and reopen it by paying $15 plus $65 reactivation fee. I explained that I have been a customer for years and this should not be happening. I then spoke with a manager who was a complete idiot and he hung up on me. This service sucks and I will be swithing to a new carrier. If any class action lawsuits come around please include me.
***BUYERS BEWARE YBUY FINANCE THROUGH CRICKET WIRELESS***
We went to our local Cricket store to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S3. We were told right away about the Samsung Galaxy S4's and how we could get 2 (my husband and I would both get a new phone instead of just myself getting a phone) on a finance plan. We were then promptly turned down for this first finance plan, however the rep would 'sort us out' with another one. We were led to believe this whole situation would be a good deal for us.
We were there for 3 hours and were told that we would just have to pay the phones off in 6 months with an automatic payment he set up for us at the time. We paid $300 dollars as a deposit and that this would contribute towards our total amount. We were told everything was fine and we went on our way.
After about 5 months we were not notified about a payment for that month so I called Cricket to get details on the payments we were making. They told us that they couldn't give me ANY information AT ALL on the payments we were making and just gave us the name and customer service number for YBUY, so at that time we found out that was who our supposed finance was with. I called YBUY and they told me they didn't have access to our account at that time and we should call back at another time.
We had another payment to make before we believed the payments would be at a close, so went ahead and paid and just thought we would get the details at the end. We had no idea or suspicion at that point that anything was wrong.
The next month we got a text reminding us about a payment due (this was 7 months of payments at this point). So we called to find out why the phones were STILL being charged to us and thought we would have to just cancel the payments.
We were told that after the first 90 days of payments EVERY ONE of our payments to YBUY were for a RENTAL SERVICE and we had been paying with each payment 50% for the balance and 50% for their fee's. To close out the account totally and pay off the FULL AMOUNT we now owed cost us $2200... for 2 samsung Galaxy S4's. They would have taken the first 90 days then 12 months of payments from us to pay off these phones. The CSA referred us to a chaptered agreement which was NEVER given to us at the time of purchase which was supposedly what we had agreed to.
We would NEVER have signed on for a rental agreement. We found out that you have a 90 day window before it transfers to this rental agreement to pay for the phones, but you have to REQUEST DIRECTLY to pay SPECIFICALLY to the balance of your phone in that first 90 day period. Even if you just pay more into the balance than the base amount, they STILL TAKE 50% for their fee's.. BEWARE.
Our financial security will be directly effected by this one situation and advice we were encouraged to follow by a rep for Cricket Wireless. He is no longer at this location as this and 3 other of our local locations have now closed. The really awful thing aside from the money we basically wasted here was that at NO POINT did either myself or my husband sign any document for this service.
I sincerely hope that this issue gets addressed either by Cricket Wireless or their new owners AT&T. We will be pursuing this matter as far as it will go.
If you plan to get cricket wireless on your phone BIG DONT.
I got cricket wireless 3 months ago, when I first got it I ( thank God bought a cheap phone), First of all I did everything through the internet. They end up sending the phone to the wrong address. Lucky me it was a business and it was in the same city. When I called them they didnt even do nothing about it.
Today I can say that this company really sucks. I end up chosing the "Unlimited text, Unlimited call" ( I end up finding out that this is not so unlimited as they advertized). My main pick was due to good rates they offered, specially because thay advertized UNLIMITED CALLS to FOREIGN countries, after researching their site I found out that the country I wanted to call was included in their plan ( $35). SO I got a phone and that plan.
Today I found out that their unlimited is not so unlimited, and also they are thieves.
It seems that their is a clause on their privacy policy that they can disconnect you phone without previous notice, or warning you about anything if you dont use the "FAIR" time.... Whatever that means.
My main purpose of getting this phone It was so I could get in contact with my BF that is in another country and spend the time I wanted with him on the phone ( Used to do that with MetroPCS, no problem, but cricket rates were so more appealing so I decided to go with cricket). YES I spend hours on the phone with him.
Well... I paid my bill on the 22nd of the month as I always did. Today I tried to make phone calls and the phone got disconected. I was online with someone and they have told me to go to a store... they gave an address it seems that hey dont even get crickket there. I run into my cousins house and decided to call them. When I called I was informed that I used to many minutes and I had violates their policies. I told them ok them either you get my phone connected or you give me my money back, because I paid my phone yesterday and It seems that I dont get any service. I was told if I wanted my service back on I would needed to go to a store and pay my monthly bill. I told the guy I ALREADY PAID MY BILL ON THE 22. SINCE YOU DONT WANT TO CONNECT MY PHONE REFUND MY MONEY.
He said: WE DONT GIVE REFUNDS...
NOW OBVIOUSLY I AM NOT GOING TO GET THAT PHONE COMPANY ANYMORE. THEY JUST STOLE FROM ME $38.42, AND THEY FALSE ADVERTISE THEIR UNLIMITED EVERYTHING....
THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU DECIDE ON THIS COMPANY, RATES MAY SEEM APPEALING BUT THEY ARE A BIG SCAM
