I prefer online ordering. I prefer it to calling a number, waiting on hold for several minutes, and then having someone try to sell me something I don't want. Cox Communications offers discounts for services ordered online, so my preference would seem to be a benefit, except that I estimate more than half of the times I have tried to order online from Cox, nothing happens. The order won't go through. Considering the internet is their business, I'm guessing it's deliberate -- so much better to give their sales reps the opportunity to upsell.
If Cox monitors the RipoffReport, know that most of the time, I'm so disgusted by your efforts that I opt to live without whatever service upgrade I wanted. It took a lot for me to grit my teeth and decide to pay WAY too much for your services, so getting pissed off and choosing to live without is easy. One of these days you're going to realize that throwing impediments up to your customers using (trying to use) online ordering is costing you money. If nothing else, it proves that your web developers are incompetent. And if your own website doesn't work properly, why would anyone believe that your products work as advertised.
