My name is Clay Goodman. I used Covert Buick GMC for maintenance on my vehicle and have had a horrible experience.
As a professional pilot I am aware of the kind of maintenance vehicles require. After my truck was involved in an accident(5-13-14), I had it towed Directly to Cover GMC and made a request to Tom Fritz(service manager) personally stating "please go through this entire truck, drivetrain, fluids and all, to ensure i will not break down and be left stranded on the side of the road” as he assured me they would. After leaving Covert my truck, what I assumed was a road worthy vehicle, I made it ~150 leak free miles before the front differential seized bringing me to a dangerously uncontrolled stop in the middle if a busy road. After having it towed to the closest dealer, I was told the "front differential was completely dry" and "looked to have been drained”. Of course bringing the truck in after a high speed impact, and since i request it to be completely gone through, I was assuming they would check something as important as differential fluids, there is no way they should have let me drive away with an empty differential. I’m truly lucky this happened at 35 mph rather than 80mph on the freeway. They claim I told them not to check the fluids, which is and outrageous lie, and make no sense as check the road worthiness was the entire reason I had the truck sent to them.
