I wanted to find court information concerning an individual. I know that there were past court records and current court records. courtcasefinder.com reported locating court records for five instances for this individual. I paid $24.95 for access to these records. When I clicked on each individual report details, I was told there was nothing on file for that report.
When I complained to courtcasefinder.com I was told that California law prevents the distribution of court records. I was refered to their "terms", which do not say that california law prevents the distribution of court records.
They knew when they displayed the five instances of found "California court records" for this person that they could not report that information to me, and they did not tell me that these records were unavailable until after I payed them the $24.95. They refused to refund my money.
This is utterly misleading advertising. I clicked on the very entry they baited me with, and then they told me that they would not give me the information. This is outright classic bait-and-switch. This is just plain stealing.
In summary, they teased me with five specific hits on court records I wanted, then after taking my money, they refused to provide that information, and refused to refund my money.
I bought this online service to research divorce dates for a colleague. The information returned was no more in depth then any free online information service. And the site stated there were no records of marriage or divorce for the person I was researching. I then upgraded to a Premium level of service and still did not get any information.
I then choose to research myself and found a many years old traffic viotation coming up under "criminal". I have been living at my address for two years and it was not listed at all. My ex-husbands current roommate was listed as a person associated with me, I have never met the gentleman, a clear violation of his rights to privacy.
Not only is this website frudulent in it's advertising, it is a violation to other people's privacy.

On Mar 12, 2015, I’ve tried to contact the company, but there was no phone number to call or the actual physical address information at all. There was only an email system to contact the company. I sent an email to the company to cancel the membership and withdraw the charge. Tomorrow, I will have to contact my credit card company and let them know the Courtcasefinder.com charge is fraud.
Please do not sign up anything with this company. The company is very, very suspicious!!

It tried to sell me an expanded service for additional money, and an additional service called Inteligator.
I read the many complaints about Inteligator, and they were the same type of complaint I have about courtcasefinder.com so I knew they were probably both bait and switch-type scams. I cancelled by email and asked for a refund since I only subscribed one day ago. I will also challenge any charge they make to my credit card on fraud charges.
This junk website doesn’t get any stars in my opinion. It’s all trash, lies, false advertising, with hidden fees and zero information. Here’s a copy of an email I sent them....
**I have to say, your website is very misleading and offers false and empty promises. The ability to quickly and instantly view full court, criminal and civil records upon registration and payment. However, after paying, there’s NO information at all AND apparently the only criminal information available for Louisiana is for Sex Offender. This has definitely not saved anytime as mentioned.** They emailed me back telling me they would provide a custom made report with the info I needed. When I received their “custom report”, it was the same crap they had online, just in different format. Don’t even waste your time with this scum..
As with everyone else who's been ripped off by this company, nothing of relevance is ever returned... on anyone! Even those you know have records. A total waste of money and time.
