My huband worked for Courier Net for years. They out-bid a company he was working for on a contract with a pharmacy that services nurcing homes in our area. im not sure if the entire company operates this way,but the office in Greer ,S.C. does. First of all,they had him sign a contract and when he asked for a copy,they said no but that he could look at it at any time he wanted. The route he ran had to be picked up at 2am but they would hold him,quite often for hours. They did pay wait time but only if it exceded 45 minutes and even then,did not pay for the first 45 mins. They do pay 3 weeks out and he was told this but the way they pay is they tell him what to write a bill for when he picks up his check stub. As an independant contracter,he should have billed them and been paid. Its alittle shady to do it that way. But he continued to do his job,7 days a week. About 6 weeks ago,he went to get his check stub and write the bill. His pay,from work done 3 weeks prior,was 150 dollars short. He was informed by the route manager,Demi,that they had stopped paying add stops-these are stops not incuded in the normal route but added to the route and up until now,paid at 8.50 each . Because of the way they pay-3 weeks later-he was out 150 times 3 before he was imformed of the change. He was forced to find other employement. Now they have decided to change it back. Bottom line-this isnt a very professional company.Seems that they are trying to have employees classified as contracters. That way the burden of expense does not fall on them but instead on the people that work for them.
