I purchased a puppy from Courageous Caucasians-Jackie Renner in January 2014 for sum of $2,000 including shipping. Hindsight is 20/20 and i was so excited to get a puppy I let several warning signs go by.
Which were:
1) Was not sure of the sire of the litter and she said the DNA test was sent off
Truth-Parentage was NEVER determand
2) She does absolutley NO gentic testing of ANY type because "the breed is so healthy" they don't require it
Truth-This is a LIE to cover her ill health puppies. My dog had one t******l and deveoled a genetic bone disease!
3) She charges double the price for a regeristered puppy
Truth-Any ethical breeder supplies FCI/UKC/AKC paperwork at NO extra charge!
4) She does not title in ANY conformation or performance work areanas
Truth- Titling dogs is a must for proving trainabilty, workability and overall worthiness in one's breeding stock. Most of her dogs are so physically and structurally unsound that they are not capable any type of work they were designed to do
5) She charges double price for beautiful blue caucasians
Truth-Check the breed standard and you will see the color BLUE is a DISQALIFICATION IN THE BREED!
6) Jackie knew I wanted a puppy to title in both conformation and performance.
Truth- When i picked my puppy up from the airport at 2am the first thing I noticed after getting him out of his crate was that he only had one t******e!!! She never disclosed this to me prior to shipping or I would have NEVER purchased him!!! I should have refused him and had him returned but wanted to be nice.
7) Jackie will tell you to contact her if you have any problems or concerns with your puppy
Truth-Jackie will answer your phone calls as long as you have good reports on your puppy when I began calling her about his genetic health issues and starting talking "replacement" she no longer answered calls,emails, texts etc. Jackie was contacted by my Attorney with NO responce from her. My puppies Orthopedic specialist contacted her and wrote her a letter per Jackies request. Jackie called this Specialist of 30+ years a LIAR!!
8) This puppy was severly and unsoundly aggressive!!!
Truth- Myself and two seperate veterinarians that do not know each other highly suspect he was inbred due to his "WEIRD" genetic problmes that typically only arise from inbreeding.
I spent more in vet bills in the first 9 months than what I paid for him. His nuetering alone was $1,000 due to his undescended t******e due to his size and exploratory surgery.
These are just the highlights of what happend but there is MUCH more!!!
This is my warning to you, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BREEDER!!!
I LOVE the breed and am happy to report that i found a several highly ethical breeders the Ukraine and now I compete with my Caucasains here in America and now hold the only obedenced titled Caucasian ovcharkas in America.
These ethical breeders in other countries are WELL AWARE of Jackie Renner and other unethical breeders in this country and will be the first to tell you they are merely breeding for money and their dogs are NOT what the standard should be!!!
BE CAREFUL to only go with ethical breeders that title or work their dogs in performance NOT just show ring for beauty looks!!!
