Negative response scam

These guys are using the old-time negative response scam. They sign you up for the print ad, but then zing you for recurring fees for a worthless internet web ad. If you don't know about it, your card will get billed about $290 each year until you figure you what is going on. It sooo sleezy and even illegal in some areas. If you read the fine print, it says that you agree to pay these recurring fees for the web ad. The real beauty is that you've already declined the web portion of their services in most cases (like I did) and that portion of the contract has a line through it and a N/A as the cost. But they claim that even though you declined it, they give it to you for free the first year (even though you declined it), so you still have to send them written notice to cancel what you never wanted to begin with. Who's on first........ Scum on the earth in my book...

I received a cold call from a Real Estate office (RE/MAX Pickering) about advertising my business in their folders. Sounded unique so I said what the hell. I've tried Yellowpages and 411.ca and this sounded like the same deal. $400 no big deal.

So I show up at the office and it's not RE/MAX doing the deal, it's another company called CORP COM (CORPCOM). Guy was super nice and so he told me all the legal stuff was standard, just sign here. Ok no prob thank you see you later.

Took a while to get my logo up properly and didn't hear back from anyone for 6 months. They said they printed the stuff but I never got a copy. Whatever my loss, should have known better, should have looked these clowns up. The reviews all state the same racket.

They called me up the next year and I said NO THANK YOU I do not want to use your services any more, I did not receive a single phone call from your services.

So three years later, I notice an odd charge by this CORPCOMM company in North York (Toronto). I call up Visa and aparently they've been charging me $281 a year, every year for the last 3 years, on top of my initial $400!

Now I'm ticked off. Ok maybe the fine print was there, but do professionals use fine prints? Not really. These guys are scammers, and it's legal. They are a huge outfit and go all across Canada and the USA.

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES OR GIVE THEM A CC NUMBER.

About a year ago I was contacted by a local real estate agent to advertise in a folder that they were getting, the folder was being produced by a company called Corpcom out of canada. I put my advertisment in the folders and paid for the service with my company debit card. Today over a year has passed and a charge from them shows up for $292.67. I call them to ask about the carge and speak with Wendy Collier, she tells me the carge is for some web service that I have no idea what it is but that I had it the past year with them and this is the renewal. I don't know what she is talking about since I didn't advertise anything on the web with them I simply put an ad in a folder. Since it just is renewing I ask them to cancel whatever it is and refund me. Wendy tells me first that I need to mail (not fax or e-mail) a letter to Brenda Alland in Canada, to cancel this service I never had in the first place. Now if mailing a letter to Canada from the U.S. isn't enough of a hastle when I ask her when I can expect the charge to be removed once I mail the letter I'm told that they can't remove the charge and the letter will just stop them from charging me agian next year. They are a major ripoff charging for somthing I never had or wanted and when I tell them I don't want it they tell me too bad. Stay away from this company.

I signed a 1 year agreement to advertise in folders given out by realtors. In the fine print, they said it will auto-renew every year until I cancel I cancel in writing 30 days in advance. There is no reason for this except for them to rip off consumers. The ad was a bust and was a wate of money as well. Do not do business with them and never give them your credit card.
