On Saturday, January 17, 2015, I my 2011 Honda Accord was vandalized, both passenger side windows were completely shattered and the surrounding chrome trim and molding were damaged. A family friend recommended we take our car to Conway Collision so my wife called and spoke with the owner Patrick Conway and had the car towed to his garage and he said he'd call us back with an estimate. Meanwhile we called our insurance company, Allstate Insurance, filed a claim and made arrangements for a rental while the Honda was being repaired. My wife then received a call from the claims adjuster and was informed that the repairs would cost $792.00 to replace the damaged trim and molding and front and rear passenger side windows. After approving the repair Mr. Conway said the car would be ready by the following Monday and he would clean up all the glass and have the car detailed because there shards of glass all scattered throughout the entire interior of the car, much of which was on our two children's car seats in the back seats.
The following Monday my wife called Conway Collision to follow up on the status of the car and was informed by Mr. Conway that one of the windows came in damaged and he had to wait for another one to arrive. I then placed a call to Conway Collision and Patrick informed me that there was a delay in the window arriving but the car should be ready by the weekend. I called that weekend and Mr. Conway informed me that the molding still hasn't arrived and that is what is holding up the process. He said he would call once the car was ready. My wife called and spoke with Mr. Conway during the middle of the week and he said the car will be ready on Saturday 2/7/2015 at 12:00 noon. My wife and I arrived at Conway Collision and parked in the front and then called Mr. Conway but he never answered. We waited till 1:00PM and he finally called back and informed my wife that he was in Delaware County and would not be back in Philadelphia for several hours, meanwhile I had to be at work by 3:00PM. My wife informed Mr. Conway that it would be better for me to pick up the car on Monday and he said that it would be ready. I arrived back to Conway Collision on Monday 2/9/2015 at approximately 1:00PM and Mr. Conway apologized for the delay. I saw the car parked inside the garage and I noticed that it had not been washed, I then asked him why the car had not be washed yet and he again apologized and said he ran out of carwash detergent. I mentioned that the car had been at his location for 3 weeks, which was more than enough time to wash the car; at that point I was fed up with the excuses, lies and delays and I took possession of the car and brought it home and parked it. The next morning I noticed there were still significant amounts of shards of glass scattered everywhere throughout in the interior of the car. I further inspected the car and removed the floor mats, I noticed more glass underneath and spilled coffee on the floor. I followed the trail of the coffee and there was coffee on the passenger seat that spilled onto the floor and in the back seat that leaked onto the floor mats. I do not know how the coffee got there because I am not a coffee drinker neither is my wife. The coffee stains in the back seat were not there prior to us taking the car to Conway Collision for repairs because a car seat was where the spill where on the back seat. In my frustration I called Mr. Conway and asked him why was there coffee spilled on my leather seats and tan rugs? He said he never noticed the coffee stains nor did not realize that there was still glass everywhere. Mr. Conway also promised to remove the glass from the two child car seats and said he would use an air gun to remove the glass from them, but as I inspected them I realized that they had to be trashed because of the amount of glass embedded in them due to the process he used to initially blow away the glass. I went to the Home Depot and purchased a shop vac along with auto detail accessories to remove all the glass and dust that had accumulated inside my car while at his shop. Mr. Conway asked me to bring the car back in so he can have it detailed but at this point I want nothing to do with Conway Collision.
Mr. Conway is a crook who was upset because we worked with the insurance company ourselves instead of allowing him to call them himself because if he worked with them directly he could have raised the prices for us to possibly pocket some of the money. His exact words were, "If I'd worked directly with the adjuster, I'd have more room to play with, I've done it in plenty of times".
I informed Mr. Conway that I was not satisfied with his services and his deceptive business practices!
