Was looking for a company who offered all three credit reports and scores at a reasonable price. CreditScore advertises on their homepage the following:
I recieved a letter via postal delivery on Creditreport.com letterhead (obviously copied) that read.
" Good news , soon your membership will be more valuable then before "
Under the statement was an account number and a few paragraphs explianing my account would be charged 32.95 starting Sept. 21 , 2013.
I immediatly called creditreport.com at 1877-297-7790 and discovered that I did not open an account. Experian ( The Father company of creditreport.com ) Did. They used my SSN and banking information and were ready to take the money. What I discovered was the account was not in my name but was in the name of Experian and all security questions had been entered fraudulantly by Experian. None of the account information other then my name, SSN and bank information was related to me.
This letter signed by Douglas Sash, Senior Vice President, Customer Care of creditreport. This is a blatant Fraud, Identity theft situation from a Credit Repoting company that is used by every Creditor.
Had I not responded to this letter. They certainly would have taken the money.
The information I recieved was confermed in the phone conversation at 10:33am CST on 9/17/2013. These calls are recorded.
I must add, I did not use my creditcard or authorize its use. They did but I have taken measures to insure the charge is not excepted. I do not believe the agent cancelled this account. I believe it is a scam that cna only be stopped by the consumers efforts.
How many more people recieved this fake ( real verified ) letter.
This company states that they are part of the Experian Credit Company. But consumerinfo.com is not. I have ordered my credit report for $10.00 today, report was delivered without a report number or toll free number for me to be able to complete disputes online or via phone. I have called the number that was given in my text regarding the payment posted. They mention that one disputes are completed via phone first then the consumer is given their report number. This is completely backwards and inaccurate. I have demanded for my report number or a full refund on my payment. They have kepted me on the phone for over 1 hour to complete this simple transaction and to grant me such a refund is necessary. Finally, they mention they will give me a refund for $10.00 within 7-10 business days.
I hope this company is not allowed to advertise and copy other official sites. Consumers go to the direct websites for order products from reliable companies. Not to be a victim of fraud of scam or given a product that they did not pay for.
Please assist the consumer for the Experian credit report.
