I receive my Fathers home phone calls to screen them against scams to which he has been a victim for several years losing over 40,000 to sweepstakes and phychics. Today I returned a call and played along for a bit. He claimed to be Officer Michael White for the Consumer Protection Bureau in DC. His phone was 202-888-3875. He said I had (my fathers) 525,000 in winnings from the American Sweepstakes Network.
He said I had received numerous mailings and he was helping to settle the winnings (I was 2nd place) to get to the winner. I was to call the American Sweepstakes Network with file # LL-21-497 to get my winnings. Their phone number was 800-908-9218. He said the sweepstakes was hacked and to be careful of giving out the number, here you can have it for free. I asked what kind of Officer he was and for his email and he got mad and hung up saying I was unprofessional.
I googled both the Bureau and the Sweepstakes. Consumer Protection Bureau is fake. Sweepstakes looks of course fake in Las Vegas as well with many scam reports as well on line. Please arrest who you can.
