This was the scariest experience ever. I used to go to doctors all the time without thinking about it. Never had any fear. Until I used a few doctors in the Community Healtcare Network. I have a mild chronic condition which requires a dose of medicine for life and I use a natural medicine which means the doctors do not get a big commission.
Welp, here in Indy, they want you in and out - in and out - in and out of their offices to take blood, then take more blood for something usually is a once-a-year blood test. They start by telling you not to fast before the blood draw. Wrong. They tell you to go ahead and take your RX the day of the blood draw. Wrong. They run the wrong tests and when you correct them, they cry like a baby all the way to their drug reps who pad their salaries.
My first colonoscopy was botched by the guy he referred me to. At the west side Community Hospital I picked up a plastic container of junk which was going to give me a nice colon cleanse. The foil on top was opened. I rang the hospital to tell her this and she told me to go ahead and drink it anyway as she laughed. Drank it. Waited. No cleanse for me. Called hospital again and told her as she laughed some more. That should have been a heads up. Next day, go to the west side Comminty Hospital which looked to be abandoned and it was very scary and dirty. The old nurse proceeds to test me for anything and everything under the sun, including a preg test for a 50 year old not sexually active. She then goes on to administer SIX enemas and the final one was not clear. Meaning zero visability. Why he gave me a colonoscopy with no viz makes no $ cents - except for bad doctor.
I got out of the hospital with a bacterial infection from the catheter. Doctor said I had polyps and how did he find them with no visability. He should have re-scheduled. It did me no good. I wasted $3,000 out of pocket. For a test which was unnecessary as it doesn't run in my family.
Doctor refers me to a gyno. I go for a PAP after the no-viz colonoscopy. Three weeks later, there is no call / note from Gyno about my check-up. Turns out I had a bacterial infection. If I did not call, it could have turned in to a serious medical condition.
People, doctors are in the sickness business. If you are healthy and in their office then consider yourself a target. If you have "good insurance" they will milk you like a cow. You should run - not walk if your doctor is on an ego trip and thinks he is the boss of your health.
Another doctor in the Community Healthcare Network dosed down my medicine so low that I thought I was going to die. It ruined a once-in-a-lifetime vacation because I was so sick from lack of medicine.
Now I buy my medicine from another country and take the proper amount and back to 100% well.
After Big Pharma put out notices about statins and how much of a waste supplements are, is when I decided to not go to the doctor unless I was dying. Spending over $700 a month for something I don't use is stupid.
But not nearly as stupid as it would be to put your life in the hands of a greedy doctor who will try very hard to make you sick.
