Commission Express is, essentially, a 'payday loan' service for realtors, who work on commission. For a steep fee, Commission Express will loan you money and then when your house sells, instead of you getting the check, it goes to Commission Express. Well, I arranged this with Commission Express and when it came time for my house to close, the deal fell through. As you can imagine, this is a common thing in the wonderful world of real estate and so the common procedure is to simply pay COmmission Express out of the next sale. Because I had just moved to the area and was starting over, I didn't have another sale however, I did have a ton of potential sales (houses on the market ) and the market was really improving fast and I would have a pending sale any day (It turned out to be about a couple weeks if I recall correctly). During that time, Commission Express turned up the heat!
They threatened to send me to collections and then they threatened to file a complaint with the local real estate board! The local real estate board is something that customers use when they feel a realtor has behaved unethically by lying or not having their interest in mind, not for some angry company who is trying to collect on a high interest loan!
I've been selling real estate for 8 years and have never, not once, had a complaint filed against me. The real estate commission records ALL complaints, legit or not, so it doesn't matter that it's frivalous, it's publicly recorded. Furthermore, this is a total abuse of the purpose of the board! They are trying to use the board for their own ends and it's not right. The idea that a business would use this as leverage to intimidate and threaten me is so unbelievably unprofessional, I was SHOCKED when he threatened me with this. Do not use this company. Maybe you won't have a bad experience, but why support a company who is willing to play this dirty? I researched a little more and discovered Three Click Advance who I have had nothing but great experiences with. I think that they charge more, although I'm not totally sure, but at least I know my real estate repuration is safe with these guys.
