Coggin Honda Reviews

  • May 9, 2014

After purchasing the 2002 Corvette at Coggin Honda, it was addressed, that there was no owners manual in the car. And the tire monitoring system was scolling across the odometer section of the car. The used car manager brought the car down from Coggin Chevrolet and states he never saw the information on the dash and it's right in front of your face.

Two weeks later, maybe earlier, the engine light comes on. I called Patrick, the used car manager and he said he would make me a appointment. He called me back and said be there tomorrow morning. My fiancee and I arrived on time and was showed to the waiting area. About an hour later, the service department informed me that, it would cost $640.00. The warranty that I purchased for $1975.00 will not cover it. There is no loaner or rental we can be placed in.

They after a few minutes said they could help out with $100.00. They said they were going to discuss this with the General Manager and get back to me. I remember after we sat down, in the service department. Here comes a mechanic and his question to the service managers were, ""What am I suppose to do with this vette"", they told him to put it on the machine and read the codes, even tho' there equipment couldn't read chevrolet codes, or enough of them. After a day or so, I called Patrick and he said they haven't come to a decision yet and they were also checking with Coggin Chevrolet were the car was at when I first saw it. Coggon Honda had a vette as well. I checked it out, and settled on the red one on the showroom floor.

We returned to Coggin Honda several times and made endless phone calls with no callbacks at all from Patrick or the service department. I even sent a nasty gram to Tam, General Manager and couldn't get a response from him eiter. I went to Coggin Honda to speak to Tam and he refused to see me. I threatened to cancel the warranty but second guessed myself.

I eventually went to Coggin Honda several days later, after speaking with Bob Mcguire, and he said he would have the 02 sensors put in. I asked him to check the horn, because it was inoperative as well. They did, 02 sensors and horn fixed and it cost me nothing but time. On that same day that I actually had an appointment with a attorney to discuss Coggin Honda. But because I thought Coggin Honda was being fair I cancelled the attorney appointment. I purchased the 2 02 sensors.

About two weeks later, the tire monitoring system still not fixed and they coudn't get a reply from Coggin Chevrolet, it was looking like a no winner. THE engine light comes back on and this time the gauge light comes on as well. I checked the gauges and the fuel gauge wasn't working and i was getting a message saying low fuel level, in the same exact spot where the tire monitoring system was scolling across the odometer.

I was in Palm Coast area and I wanted to go to a Chevrolet dealer this time. I had to pay a $95.00 fee for hooking the car up to this diagnois machine. It identified, the left rear tire monitor needs replaced, it identified the air pump was working. AND it also identified a third 02 sensor has quit working and the price to repair, a mear $1075.00. I'm about to scream, I have a lot of discipline.

They called the warranty company, Mercury Select Management Company in Oklahoma. Covers nothing! I finally received the documentation of what the warranty covers. I didn't call them and haven't since I requested the detailed coverages in the paper work. It at that time was 60 days. I have read it all. I received my used owners manual i purchased off ebay this week. I'm happy to say. But, you had better keep all maintenance records and keep up to date with lubricants that go into the engine, transmission and rear end.

So I have a 02 Corvette that needs one 02 sensors, may as well replace the other one at the same time. Fix the air pump, replace the tire monitor when i get tires. Because Mercury is expecting to see all this work performed, or they're blame me for anything that goes wrong in the future because the tire monitoring system in the left rear was bad and that caused the transmission, engine and drive shaft to explode. LOL

I called Bob Mcguire, and Patrick and sent bob a email, haven't heard from them anymore, but i'm not finished either. Semper Fi!
