CCCU has failed to provide proof of late payment reported on our account, and refused to remove when proof couldn't be provided. CCCU reported a 30 day late payment on my credit report. I have contacted them directly, and through the credit reporting agencies asking them to provide proof of the debt. We have provided proof in the form of bank statements clearly showing the payment was made on time. However, CCCU has failed to provide any proof to the contrary, and have failed to remove the item from our credit report as required to do when proof of the late payment could not be provided. The credit reporting agencies have been of no help either. We have been told that because of CCCU's long standing relationship of being a ""reputable source"", no proof is needed to place the item on our credit report. Again, CCCU cannot provide proof to us, and has been unable to provide proof to the credit reporting agencies as well.
Skylar Jack in the collection department has repeatedly told us that the information reported cannot be removed per federal law. To-date, she has provided no proof of the late payment, and has been unable to provide proof that such federal law exists that once a financial insitution reports erroneous information, it cannot be removed.
As previously stated, we have provided our proof that the payment was not late. We have also taken the proper steps to resolve this through the credit union and/or the credit reporting agencies. We are now being forced to take legal action to resolve this issue. My warning to anybody preparing to do business with Clark County Credit Union would be to avoid them at all costs. This issue has proven to me that they are not ethical in their dealings with their members. This will definitely be the last loan we ever have with CCCU!
