I have been purchasing bats from CIS Athletic supply for 3 years simply because I trusted the salesman they had, the service provided and the way they stood behind the product they sold.
This year I contacted the office of CIS to get ahold of the salesman that had sold us bats, and spoke to a gentleman named Mikale, I later came to find out he was the owner Bob Egr's son, anyway I told them the louisville slugger bat I wanted and to have the salesman call me.
I waited a week with no return call, so I called back and addressed this with Mikale and he told me the salesman was out due to surgery, what bat did I want he could handle it. I placed my order it came about 28 days later, My son used it for 4 months and it broke, I tried on numerous times to contact Mikale and CIS Athletic supply via phone and email and in turn simply asking for a reciept or help to send it in for warranty purposes, this is the response I got 5 weeks later:
We only sale the bats we do not warranty them you will have to go through the manufacturer. No I found this to be untrue, since their salesman had always helped me in the past, so I tried to contact Mr. Egr the owner and no response either.
I finally got my credit card company to send me a copy of the charges from CIS athletic supply and used it for the warranty and did it all myself with no help from CIS Athletic supply.
My son also played with a team that had problems this year with uniforms being on time, the logo was not done correctly as well as mispelling of the names, my son's team was from Urbandale and we take pride in the way we look, play the game we love and the service we recieve.
I recently ran into the salesman who originally got our business to got to CIS Athletic supply and he informed me he was no longer with them, I in turn informed he how this Mikale had blamed everything on him with the uniform problems as well as the bat.
He just smiled and laughed, which showed me I had been getting played as a fool by Mikale and the CIS staff, it is evident they do not stand behind their product, nor will they, I will never do business with someone who does not care about their customers, and I would advise no one else do so, if you want customer service since they will not provide it.
