Chevron Corporation Reviews

I usually purchase fuel at the chevron station and today I purchased only $10.00 due too a low account balance, to leave myself and my wife enough to get some groceries until the next payday. To my surprise I checked my cheking account only 1/2 an hour later and was -$58.00 in arrears and could not use my debit card at all today. I contacted my bank and they said a hold of $101.00 plus the actual $10.00 I spent was placed on my account from a pre-authorization from chevron for fuel and by the next day it would go back in. So for a $10.00 purchase they decided to use another $101.00 of my money from my bank account today, that I did not have without any penalties, but was allowed by my bank to use it through my name and account that I was not aware of at all.

In effect the bank allowed Chevron to use my name for $101.00 temporarily and use this money for what? Trading stocks for the day comes to mind among other things, so while I have no useable money with my debit card unless I go directly to my bank and make a personal check withdrawl they can use money I do not have for the day any way they want? This seems like a legal or illegal loophole any company can duplicate or create to temporarily borrow money that is not even there, make some money then replace it by later the same day or that evening so no one is the wiser.

"I never authorized this through thier fuel pump" so temporarily turning my debit card into a completely worthless piece of plastic with no funds to shop with is not in any way acceptable.

My bank said it was normal for places to pre-authorize whatever they decided, now something looks wrong with this picture to me. Today chevron has an extra $101.00 just from me pumping fuel at one terminal at one station to use for whatever they choose until the bank catches up tonight and replaces the money that I never had in my account to begin with, and then tomarrow I can use my $42.00 that I could not use because chevron was using it?.

So if any big corporation is allowed to do this then I can surely see why the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.

"I havent been fishing lately but something really stinks".

As you are aware of, my Aunt Evelyn C. Pendleton (Access ID: had died on 02/08/15. We realize that she is not entitled to receive any further pension benefits. The problem that is still in question , the medical payment, that was dedulcted from her checking on 12/15/2014. On 12/13/15, I notified your firm that she was on Hospice Care and her medical insurance was to be cancelled. This premium payment was for January 2015. Well your firm was very apprehensive to cancelling this policy. When I was finally able to convince the person that I was talking to that she was dying, he finally understood. It was agreed to cancel this policy. Before we could stop the payment of auto-pay out of her checking account the check was sent. Her account is due this refund of $224.10 for a policy that was cancelled.

I have talked to two different people and the last one I talked to, said I had to provide a death Certificate at our cost if $25.00 for a certified copy. I do not feel that a certified copy is necessary to get reimbursement for this medical payment that was cancelled. If, in fact, that is true, then we will expect payment for this certified copy, as well as the Medical premium. The individuals that I originally dealt with, each had to speak to a supervisor before they could give me an answer. What a sorry way to run a business and dealing with a families m with grief.

Iam at my wits end, trying to resolve matter and I am no longer going to jump through hoops for Chevron, and the obligation is on your shoulders to resolve.

Hopefully we will get this matter resolved so that I can finally close my Aunts checking account due to this fiasco. Now, I am a patient individual, and if resolution is not forthcoming, then the matter can go to small claims court and let a Judge decide who is right and who is wrong. I simply detest taking these type of actions, but apparently you are not leaving me any choice. Oh yes, you can be sued in my jurisdicrtion, not yours.

Employees at this Chevron don't allow customers to use ATM DEBIT/Credit cards at the stations unless they go into the store.

They are required to give employees an amount they want inside. The problem they get customers to pay for so much and then don't give them the full amount of the gas. They hold the gas back and use fill up their friends tanks.

One warm, balmy evening, about a month ago, my friend and I drove to a local warehouse store about a mile down the road from where I had parked my truck. We had gone bowling with a group from work and had just enough time afterwards to shop for a few household supplies. We decided to take her Dodge Charger because the air conditioning worked better than my old truck.

Upon returning to the parking lot with our goods, her car stalled. She instinctively placed the car in park in an attempt to restart it, to no avail. She suspected her husband had run it low on gas - as she worked from home, and he often borrowed the car and failed to restore the gas. Fortunately, or so we thought, there was a Chevron Gas Station in the adjacent lot. I wanted to push the car up to the fuel pumps, but the vehicle couldn't be moved out of Park. I left my friend in her car and ran through the bowling alley to get my truck in the other lot. I drove around the building and parked at a pump, went into the store and grabbed the only available 1 gallon, red, plastic gas can. I brought it up to the counter where a young, pimpley faced male scanned the can and punched a gallon of gas into the register. To my shock and awe, the clerk requested $18.57 as my eyes darted to the register's screen. I said to the young clerk, "You have got to be kidding me right now." He did not respond, nor meet my gaze. As I handed him my cash, I said, "This is a great way to take advantage of a person in an urgent situation. This is shameful" ...realizing of course that he did not set the price point. I left the store fuming mad, and glistening from the humidity. It was dark and late, and we were two, tired from-the-day, middle aged women in a not-so-great part of town. My friend was frail and had been ill for several years. I was more concerned for her safety, waiting in the car, while I was being filched for my last $20 dollar bill.

I filled the can with a gallon of regular gas and returned to my friend who was anxiously waiting about 50 yards away. It took me a minute to figure out the redesigned nozzle on my new, premium, Made in China, gas container. Once the car consumed the last few drops of precious effluvium, and it was sealed up, the engine turned over with no effort. As strangers stepped off the bus and strode past, a teenage male asked for my last dollar bill so he could buy a soda at the Chevron. I was more than happy to assist my dear friend and the stranger, but Chevron will never benefit from my business again. They lost two consumers that day.
