Cheap o air is such a rip off! Originally I booked a flight for two of us to Kauai, Hi For around 900.00. After purchase no our tickets we found out all the hotels had been booked and there were no rooms available! I contacted cheapoair the next day and told them the issue I was having and that we would like to change our destination so we could get a room somewhere.
The man I spoke to was soo very rude and could care less. We ended up paying a fee to switch our tickets for about 400.00 to cancun. So now we have spnet around 1200.00.
About a week later my boyfriend got called in to leave for work for 6 weeks. I once again called cheapoair just to cancel our flight. Once again very rude, the guy was almost yelling at me when I was asking him why I would only receive a 530.00 credit?!
I received my email saying I have a 530 credit for cheapoair that can only be used by the people on the original tickets.
Also that the airline will charge 200. Per person when I re book.
i tried to rebook yesterday and after the man once again on the phone made up his own rule that it has to be booked in 60 days or its not any good, even though the email I read directly to him states I have one year. Then the man changed his mind and said I could book my 260 dollar flight for just me but after all the fees and taxes I would own 290 and that is including my credit. He basically told me the 530 is split in half because there was originally two of us And then I have to pay the 200.00. So out of 1200.00 I was left with a 50 credit for me and 50 credit for my boyfriend. This company is terrible and they treat their customers horrible. I asked the rep why I would agree to paying 290 including my credit to fly when they have tickets on their website directly to the location for 260? He couldn't answer and just asked for my credit card so he coild just book it. I told him no way. I will continue to post my experience everywhere
i can online to warn people about this website! Please don't buy tickets here!
I would like to share my experience with all of your. Please take your time to read this email.
I initially sent an email to the following people/departments at Cheapoair; Feedback; Renee Andrews, James Fonovich, Sam (CEO), Sneharthi Roy and Carolina on Saturday, February 17th. In this email, i explained the hardship I faced and was looking for answers (a copy of this email is at end of this email)
Since then; here are the updates.
- I was patiently waiting to hear back from someone / anyone from cheapoair senior management department
-Since I didn't hear back from anyone, I started doing some research on my own ... I figured the only option I had to was either (a) cancel my ticket @ $300 per person or (b) Pay about $500 / person to change my tickets.
While on the phone with a cheapoair rep / manager / rep for over 3 hours (going back and forth with them), I was browsing online for some rates ... and for the flight I wanted, coming directly back to Toronto, was even cheaper then the flight I had initially booked (Initial booking: $2,849.10 for two people - for the flight I couldn't board ) and now it was $2,732.14 for 2 people for a flight that I COULD board. so .. while online with the rep, he wanted about $1000 to change the flight .. ($200 / person for changing the flight and the rest about $300 / person for the difference in fare) ... so we quickly did the math ... to cancel my flight VIA USA was $600 (for 2 people) and new booking was $2732 ... so over all I was saving 4 hundred ($1000 to change vs. $600 to cancel). So i went ahead and told the rep to cancel my existing ticket and I will book again online ... and he told me $300 / ticket is the penalty ... so I agreed to that because I HAD NO CHOICE ...
So now ... I go to book the ticket ... and quess what ... "THE PRICE OF YOUR FLIGHT HAS CHANGE FROM $2732.14 TO $3104.14 ... GREAT!!!
Now I go to call the rep back, almost wanting to cry ... no one was helping. I patiently monitored the flights and website ... my conclusion is that, cheapoair.ca will show you a price that you want to see and when you go to book it, It will change the price on you. I've taken screenshots and my summary follows; (Screen shots attached) ... I understand this can happen once .. or twice ... but not continuously.
I attempted to book a flight leaving DFW leaving Friday Nov 7th 1153am United Airlines arrive Columbus Oh 740pmthe site indicated that there was two seats available. I needed to leave on the 7th and clicked the NOT flexable date tab The site continued to tell me that the flight was dated Friday Nov 7 until i clicked the Book Flight The confirmtion indicated my flight was booked through United airlaines which was ok but it was booked on Thursday the 6th at Love Field.
I called called customer service i got a agent in bangladesh. He told me i could cancel the flight and book the one that showed on the site as leaving DFW and have to wait 10-14 days to get the refund. I told him i did not have the money to book another flight. He said he would transfer me to his supervisor I waited 45 mins on hold and hung up NO supervisor ever came on and no one ever called me back.
The call taker asked for my call back to get in touch with me they never did. Always saying so sorry but not really Poor excuse for customer service bad bait and switch advertise one flight and switch you to another airport and flight refund policy is crummy dont ever use this company it is a joke and lousy service
We've used Cheap-o air a couple times without incident. Then it happened - we needed to change a flight. Time to get RAPED!
Cheap-o air charged us a $50 fee to not forfiet our original flight cost of $600. Then Cheap-o air charged us a $200 change fee. Then, instead of charging us the current price of our new flight, Cheap-o air insisted on charging us the cost of the flight from LAST SUMMER!! Which of course was much more money.
Be forewarned - if you need to change your travel plans (with pretty much any of these secondary travel agencies) YOU WILL GET RAPED!
Our total penalty for changing a $600 flight was $439. That is, our flight cost went from $600 to $1039 because of BOGUS Cheap-o Air FEES.
Be smart. Use these sites e.g. Travelocity, Cheap-o Air, Kayak to find the flights & hotels you want and then bookdirect with the airline/hotel. These secondary travel companies or merely parasites that make their money off of travel changes with rip-off fees!
