Chase Bank Reviews

In Nov. 1996 my husband and I purchased a home under a VA loan price of $138,000, the lender financed it for $140,000 in the year 1996. North America Mortgage company bought the VA loan sometime in the year 2002, Washinton Mutual bought the VA loan from North America Mortgage Company in 2002 in which they were both affiliated with each other.

In August 2005 Washinton Mutual bank was harrassing us to transfer an open account that we had with PFF Bank and Trust for $80,300 which was the Home Equity line in Credit loan. They told us that they would refinance the VA loan that was $134.000 and combine the $80,300 home equity line in credit loan together to become one house payment of $1,359.72 and an interest rate of 5.75. We signed Preliminary paper work and they never called us for the final signatures for closing escrow.

We would call and call countless times to Washington Mutual Bank to find out what happened to the escrow and they wouldn't answer the phone. Next thing I know Washinton Mutual bank was permantely closed and out of business, but before they had closed there business they went to the county of San Bernanrdino and recorded an Equity Plus Deed of Trust for $164,000 plus $44,000 that we never borrowed from Washinton Mutual Bank. In May 2015 is when I had discovered all the money they stole from our property, so I called the Corporation of JP Morgan Chase bank for information regarding our original loan there answer to me was that my husband and I had borrowed over $200,000; in the year of 2006 and that if we didn't pay the $200,000 by Feburaury 16, 2016 that they would file for Forclosure.

Chase Bank totally took my husbands rights away even though, him being a VA that served his country, now 74 years old, didn't matter to them and putting my husband in a crucial position of possibly facing poverty and homelessness with his family in about 6 to 7 months from now, if no justice is served. My husband is 74 years of age, he does not need to be out on the streets homeless at that age, he should be able to enjoy and live the rest of his life retired and happy; not stressing, because of these people.

JP Morgan Chase Bank never showed me written proof of the money that they were talking about, that we owed even though they knew who cashed $44,000 in the year 2009, chase bank keeps telling us that the money was electronically transferred to us; but they wouldn't and will not show me any proof of those transfers. I've been paying $200 and now $134 every month in Interest for the past 8 or 9 years now. Chase bank tells me that they don't have any proof in paper about the $44,000 that I have to pay, but that they have it in their system and not on paper and that's why they can't give me the proof; but that I still have to pay they said.

I haven't paid the $134 this month towards the Interest because they haven't showed me proof yet of the $44,000 note that they're talking about. Me and my Husband feel stressed and terrorized about this situation considering they want to take our home away without any proof whatsoever. We have to remember that JP Morgan Chase Bank has hundreds of thousands of VA loans through the country and their institutions, so my question is, what happens to one VA can happen to another VA; is that the future for chase bank on VA loans.

All I ask for is help from you people, and please get in contact with me, about this critical serious situation!!

I have had a couple of accounts with Chase for 10 years now with no significant complaints. When my wife was looking for a new bank, I recommended she set up her account with Chase.

Then this year we made a mistake of opening up a savings account, and that is when the name on the account problems happened. My dad and I have the exact same name, except my name has a Jr on the end, which is a simple common issue. It used to be a simple issue with Chase. Even the clerk who opened the account asked to make sure I still wanted the account with Jr on it, and of course, I said yes, and advised her of the legal issues why I wanted the name on my account in my legal name. She said no problem and assured me the new account was set-up that way.

From that time on, it's been a constant problem trying to getting the accounts back into my legal name that for the past 10-years hasn't been such an impossible task for Chase to do. It's a simple fix, you say? Not with Chase.

First I fired off an email inquiry to have it fixed. Apparently the rep in India had trouble reading as they said they looked over all my accounts and they are exactly as they have always been. Honestly? I have statements in English all the way back to 2005 that says otherwise! I then picked up the phone and called and another rep then said that I needed to go to a branch and show my picture ID--again, seems ridiculous to have to walk in person with picture ID to have it simply changed back to what it has always been.

Needless to say I went to a different branch then the first one that started this problem, and I'll be darn if I showed my ID and got it fixed and even verified it online, only to find out the next day that it was changed back to the wrong name again.

Long story short, after having to go in not once but twice to show picture ID, it has switched back and forth 5 times now over the space of 4 weeks. At first I thought some bored bank employee was screwing around, but after a month of this it's obvious they have a virus in their computer system to keep changing my name to the wrong name. They cannot even explain why I have to have picture ID in person to have it changed back to the same name it's always been, but they don't need picture ID or my permission to change it to the wrong name. I also don't like the idea that my Dad could walk in and show picture ID and walk off with $45K of our money. Even a executive complaint went no where with nothing fixed. Oh--it gets worst. A few weeks later my credit card statement shows up and yes, it's in the wrong name also even though it was never discussed or touched in any of our discussions....yes, the Chase name virus has struck again.

So I'm off to find a new bank to transfer all of our accounts that has the capability to not only have some decent customer service but can put a person's legal name on an account and keep it that way for another 10-years.

Chase employees are awful, rude and incompetent. me and my wife just spent over 4 weeks and it feels like 100's of hours of our time being transferred around and lied to. i don't think many of there employees even where paying any attention to what i was saying it was a waste of my time and theres. The where just wanting in till it was time to go home. MY request was a simple information request about a check that we did not get. At any other company this take at the most a 20 minutes. what did work was calling the CEO number 212 270 1111. They will try to transfer you to a call center where the employees are again awful, rude and incompetent. Do not let them transfer you. Demand that the person that answer the phone updates you about the status of you case. the will lie to you and hang up on or put you hold. you may have to call a couple of times. this is the only thing that works. only till this CEO number is tied up will any of the departments help you. its sad i had to do that but no one else will help unless the people that answer this number time is taken up. my time is just as important as there. the should improve there customer service if the don't what people calling the CEO number. Again do not let them transfer you. make the person who answer the phone get involved. also other numbers i got are tony garder at 614 422 0784 she is 1st level manger who helped me after 8 days. also call anthony M. at 813 584 3108 he is at security and tell him you want him to get involved because there customer service is so poor. The government should break this bank up. my wife is nurse and i am Veteran of the first gulf war who works nights to help to pay for my wife's school to become a NP. if any of these employees got this level of customer service from me or wife it would be criminal. they should feel ashamed. we deserve better customer service.

Chase bank , in two months took (with duplicate bogus transactions) all of my money. After filing paperwork in bank, with bank officer, NOTHING was ever researched, stores didnt receive requests for video or pics of pos purchases that never occurred. Chase stipulated they didn't get any appropriate documents for reports of teft. Have taken a year and now say that they would only look. Back on ninety days and im just too late, too bad. If I had copies of the theft reports .... no, I didnt receive copies. I showed them the changed accounts and lost money seconds after the account was opened, while I stood in the bank, across town there was a pos that draned eight hundred dollars! Then chase got me in an over draft loop, preventing the account closure, and change of direct deposit, and now im homeless, hopeless, and hacked!

Beware of any text messages you may receive coming from a number claiming to be Chase Bank. I received this text message from 28107, then they called me from 203-871-1304: "FREE MSG: Chase Fraud-Did you use card ending 7674 for $58.42 at a clothing store on 05/09/2015? If YES reply 1, NO reply 2". I knew something wasn't right because this isn't my card number and they wouldn't get my card number wrong, plus they wouldn't say something generic like "a clothing store". I called the bank to verify and the message didn't even come from them. Be very careful!

We have a small auction company in Colorado. Much of our business is done online and people call us to pay with a credit card, paypal, etc..

We recently had a person purchase a generator. They called immediatly and paid with a credit card, they had the card number, the security code and the zip code. The card was approved and we held the item for several days as we always do to make sure the funds batched into our acct.

Everything seemed fine so we shipped the item. As it was getting ready to be delivered a representitive from Chase bank contacted us and asked questions about the purchase, she called back later and asked us to refund the card.

We were able to stop the delivery and have the item shipped back to us but this is how it breaks down;

we sold an item for $350.00 plus $45.00 in tax and fees

we collected that amount plus $296.00 for shipping

Total of $691.00

Chase will pull $691.00 from our acct.

In the meantime we still have to pay the $296.00 for shipping plus another $175.00 for return shipping (the shipper gave us a break on return shipping), plus we have paid our customer for the sale of his generator $280.00 ($350.00 minus 20%).

Total of $796.00 that we have invested into a $350.00 product.

Now here is my complaint. As merchants, we are led to believe that if we we receive all of the corresponding info on a credit card purchase and it is approved we are protected when in fact there is no protection. After talking to Chase I was told there is no way to know if the card will be honored until it is too late.

The banks and card companies lead us to believe that the reason they have to charge such high prices for processing and interest is because of all of the fraud that they absorb when in fact they apparently do not absorb any of it! I don't know of anything short of not accepting credit cards to protect ourselves. What happens when the item is $10 or $20 thousand dollars?

Chase Bank might as well move their operations to Nigeria to be closer to the scammers they are joining forces with.

On March 19th, 2015 I went to a Chase ATM machine on their 360 E 149th St Bronx, NY 10455 branch. ATM Machine number 9. The amount deposited was all Cash totalling $1600. After the ATM counted the money it gave me an error indicating there was a problem with my transaction. Gave me a receipt for a phone number and transaction number to call. I panicked, it was all cash, I had no way to claim my funds back!! I called the number and also went to a customer service representative. The rep told me they have no access to the machines and that all they could do is call that number for me and open a case. I had already called the number and opened a case. Over the phone Chase assumed me, there was nothing to worry about. Once I gave them the transaction number, the AMT code and AMT ID my money was safe. They even gave me a credit for my funds, just a few short hours after the deposit. I went on as if everything was resolved. 32 days later I logged into my account only to find that Chase had reversed the deposit they credited me. I called Chase and they told me that I didn't deposit the funds. They weren't able to get the funds from the ATM and therefore, I must have not made any deposit because there was no money to be found.

They claim a 3rd party audits the ATM machines and that since they didn't find the money there, I didn't deposit the money. I did deposit the money, I even told them they can look back at the footage, they have security cameras at each ATM, can't they check that I was there, I made a deposit and left empty handed? They said, once their independent 3rd party reports no cash was there, they take away your money. That's where I'm left today Chase and/or their independent (UN-NAMED) contractor stole my hard earned cash! I will never use an ATM to deposit cash, ever again in my life. I only wish that didn't cost me $1630! I'm trying to find my options but since this was cash I don't know if my options are many. Chase told me they wash their hands and won't honor the amount. To them, I lied, to them I simply wanted the funds but didn't deposit any money. Where is my money today?? They claim I have it. I say someone stole it.

As soon as it is possible for me to take my business elsewhere I will close my Chase account so they can never again steal my hard earned money. This is the second ATM that does this to me. The last time it returned the money, this time it only gave me a worthless piece of paper.

I opened a Chase Bank account on Friday January 9, 2015 and on Monday January 12, 2015 it says online my account was suspended. I called the customer service and they are not even in the US, there is the language barrier and the guy had no idea what he was talking about. Horrible customer service. I spoke to one guy who couldn't tell me why my account was closed without any activity o the account, then he transfers me to his so called supervisor who states " I'm sorry mam but you signed an agreement with Chase Bank which states that Chase Bank can close your account without notice or explanation". What? Are you kidding me? As I continued trying to explain that I haven't deposited any money, checks, or used the card yet, so it doesn't make any sense why my account would be closed, this so called supervisor just kept reading the script and telling me that he doesn't have to tell me why they closed the account and they don't have to notify me either. I was speechles. I have money coming in from a merchant account and I have money going out as I have paid bills so who is going to pay for all the bounced payments Chase Bank? I don't think so. This ahould be illegal. They can't just play with peoples' lives like that and have these idiots answer the phone, reading a script and not give you any kind of explanation. Thats is ridicolous. Chase Bank needs to go out of business and they need to get sued. How can you close my account when there was no activity and you didn't even notify me. That should be against the law. It's illegal and what about my rights? Don't ever deal with JP Morgan Chase. They are horrible and evil people who will take your money and rip you off. Chase Bank are scammers and need to go to jail.

I have been with Chase- Mileage Plus United credit card for over 20 years and have always paid my credit card payments on time over the 20 years. Still, they continuously deny my requests to lower my credit card interest rate. They are charging 20.99% interest and have made a lot of money off of interest off of me. They have not been supportive of their loyal customers and have refused to lower my interest rate - saying that there is no other rate available to me at this time. What a bunch of crock! The large banks were bailed out by the federal government and the responsibility of these banks should be to help their customers who are trying to get rid of their debts!

Chase Bank is a good example of a major bank that enjoys ripping off its loyal customers! Never deal with Chase! They will only rip you off!!!

Chase bank contacted me about my mortgage payments being behind. Advised them that I had recently got a divorce and Chase thought it would be a great idea for me to apply for a loan modification. After countless hours of sending docs requested and talking on the phone with Chase, they finally gave me a trial period for a 100.00 more on my house note. So it actually went up 100.00 instead of lowering my note. I disagreed with this amount and was advised by Chase to start the loan mod all over. There was no written communication in the year of 2013, just verbal and I was told it was being reviewed. In 2014, my loan was transferred to another lender. Of course my loan mod with this company was denied because I was so far behind with Chase. My house has now been foreclosed upon and there was a Sheriff Sale but I'm still in the house for now!! While I was with Chase I wanted to send in payments but was told by Chase ALL payments would be refused because it would mess up the loan modification. So now not only will my son and I possibly be homeless but because of Chase, my credit is ruined!! I'm well aware of the lawsuit that was brought agsinst JP Morgan Chase for this same reason!! I've contacted the federal trade commission and many more organizations for help because this is just not fair. So far I haven't received any help but I will keep trying!

In their greed, the big banks and Wall Street have destroyed the US economy, cost millions their jobs and have caused recent graduates to be unable to obtain work in our perspective fields after years of hard work and dedication. I am fed up with the feds refusing to crack down, so I have concocted a plan to bring karmic, ironic retribution upon those that have caused America so much pain and grief. The true unemployment statistics in this country are at approximately 18%, which includes first time job seekers and those who have given up on the job hunt. Current statistics for unemployed recent college graduates is at 25%

The plan: If any lawyers who view this site are around, it is time to initiate the mother of all class action law suits on behalf of the citizens of the United States. If anyone here knows a good lawyer, bring this report to their attention as this has the potential to make loads of money for any attorney who does it.

The Classes. Class 1: Any and all US Citizens who as a result of the dishonest, greedy practices of the banksters and Wall Street destroying the economy, have lost their jobs via lay offs. This also includes any additional damages suffered besides lost salary such as foreclosures and repossesions caused by job loss. Class 2: Any and all US Citizens who upon recently graduating from college, have been unable to find long term employment in their field due to said practices that caused the economic melt-down.

The Defendants: All the major banks in the United States, the top executives of said banks, and the top executives in Wall Street.

The Objective: Prove that the big banks and Wall Street and be held liable in the destruction of the US economy, thus liable in the mass surge of unemployment.

The Damages Sought: For class 1, all wages that were lost as a result of lay offs via the economic melt-down. In addition, damages for losses related to job loss, such as the value of a home lost to foreclosure or a repossessed vehicle. For class 2, damages equivilant to the average montly salary of someone with said college degree times the amount of time unable to find work in their respective field. This is in addition to the lawyer's winnings.

The government refuses to punish those responsible for unimaginable human suffering because banks that are "too big to fail" are apparently "too big to jail". Thus it is the responsiblity of the people to bring the proverbial "torches and pitchforks" and exercise our dissatisfaction through the legal system. Its time that the people who caused this depression to owe up and pay for the damage they have caused.

Twice this year I did not receive my bill in the mail; and twice this year I had to initiate contact with the Chase cardmember service department to make my monthly payment telephonically. The first time this happened, it was in September, and the Chase cardmember service department credited me back a $25 late fee. My December payment was due the 22nd, and again, I did not receive a bill in the mail; so on the morning of the 23rd, I called to again make my payment telephonically. I told the customer service representative, Rena, that I was upset that this was the second time I did not receive a bill. She transferred me to her supervisor, Frank, who, like her, was rude, dismissive, and amused – he actually laughed at me. They both advised me that all of the information on my account was correct, so the $25 late fee assessed on the 22nd would not be reversed on the morning of the 23rd. So, despite the fact that I did not receive a bill, I initiated contact with them to ensure payment was made, and it was only 8 hours after the due date, they would not reverse the late fee.

Yesterday, September 25th of 2014, at 2:10 PM I went into a Texas branch of JP Morgan Chase Bank where I have a safe deposit box. It was mid-afternoon on a Thrusday, and business appeared VERY slow in this branch. There were 2 tellers working the counter when I entered, in addition to a man on a phone in one cubicle and a woman sitting in another cubicle with a person who may have been a bank client. Immediately upon entering the bank, I told one of the 2 tellers (who was unoccupied) that I needed to access my safe deposit box at that branch.

I was enroute to meet with my attorney for an appointment regarding estate planning, and I needed critical documents from my safe deposit box. The teller told me "You'll need to see a banker, so please wait for a moment." I really WAS inside a bank, so I supposed there MIGHT be "bankers" there? Or so I thought. After 6 minutes of waiting, I started pacing to make it obvious I was still waiting for "a banker." After 10 minutes, and with my attorney's appointment growing closer, I decided I'd had enough of Chase Bank's "customer service." At that time I said the following to the sole teller at the counter:

"My time is too valuable for this, so I'll come back some other day and perhaps I'll be able to access my safe deposit box on THAT day." I was polite but terse, so it would be obvious I was NOT happy with the total lack of service I was provided.

Within a half hour of departing that Chase Bank branch, I called the main Chase Bank branch in the nearest city (New Braunfels, Texas) and asked to speak to someone who could do anything about being denied reasonable access to my safe deposit box at the Highwat 46 Branch. I was given a phone number for some alleged Chase Bank official in San Antonio, Texas...about 35 miles away...who "...might be able to address my issue..." (per the Chase Bank rep). What a joke!

This is typical of everything I've experienced from JP Morgan Chasde Bank since I first became a client. In responses to slick solicitations FROM CHASE BANK, I applied 3 times to refinance a home already financed by them...but each time they played "bait & switch" games with me, upping initial low interest rates they'd quoted me to higher ones due to one alleged complication or another. After Chase Bank wasted 2 years of my time as they questioned whether I could re-fi a loan already with them on which EVERY SINGLE PAYMENT HAD BEEN MADE ON-TIME OR EARLY, and WITH ADDITIONAL PRINCIPAL ADDED TO EACH PAYMENT, I walked away from their nonsense games and quickly purchased another (SECOND) home through another lender.

As best I can tell from my association with JP Morgan Chase Bank, they're corporately incompetent and/or dishonest...or BOTH.

Steer clear of applying for this card unless you don't get embarrassed easily when Chase runs a ChexSystems report on you and tells you you're denied a PRE-PAID card! Yes, Chase runs a report on you for a PRE-PAID card. Afterall, isn't that the reason you apply for a pre-paid card because you are on ChexSystems and cannot open a Checking account? If you want a good card with NO FEE's, with Bill Pay, use the American Express Blue Bird cards or the American Express Serve card. You have your choice of direct deposit or depositing your money at any cashier with 7-11, CVS. Walmart, -free of charge. Save yourself an embarrassment by wasting time going into the Chase branch only to be declined and pissed off.

This Manager was just fired at Chase. He can't lead people for his behavior is unbecoming a Leader and a Man. Peers, Subordinates and Employees can't trust this person. He also has cheated on his wife while she was pregnant. WOW! This person should never be in the Financial Services Industry and not in Management whatsoever. He hurt many people with his dishonest behavior and destroyed many careers intentionally. Th man can never be trusted.
