I was the executor of my mother's estate. Upon selling her house, Hergenroeder issued three separae checks to three of her children. Hergenroeder retained three times the estimated funds required for state taxes.Hergenroeder then issued a check for the proceeds. However, it was made out to five different people [ includes 2 wives ]. One of the recipients would not sign,so I returned the check and requested separate checks as was issued before .Hergenroeder refused to do this. After two months I sent him a letter requesting these funds. There was no response. Obviously , he was intent on keeping the funds. Several years passed and I contacted the Pennsylvania Treasury Dept.and they did not have a record of these excess funds. So I put to Mr Hergenroeder, Where is my $868.08 ?
This happened many years ago,and I am not sure if the father or son signed the correspondence. The names are identical, but the son has III after his name. I do not know if he uses this when he signs. However they were both principles at the law firm of Hoegenroeder & Heights at the time. This firm is no longer active, but the son is a principle of another law in Pittsburgh that bears his name.
