I hired Ann Taylor CEO of Charity Mavens who was referred to me through a business group to complete the applications, file and pay the filing fees for the 501(c)3 application for tax-exempt paperwork as well as trademarking and copyrighting for my organization.
In September, I was informed that the owner of the organization may have been involved in fraudulent activity with another member of the business group. This raise concerns on my end so I reached out to the IRS and found out that the filing fee for my non-profit application was never received. Nor was the trademarking and copyright for my organization done. After further investigation on my end, it does appear that this individual/organization is a fraud. She also provided a TaxID to me that belong to another organization.
