- this place is a RIP OFF! Do not go here - Car Buyer beware, they will steal every nickel they can from you.
Let's get to the point. There are a number of car buyers in Arizona that have been to Chapman Ford in Scottsdale on McDowell Road. I've read the reviews and some have had ok experiences but MANY have had terrible experiences - including myself. I should have researched Chapman Ford Scottsdale Reviews first and would have seen right away this is a place to avoid. It's understandable that every now and them someone is just an a$$ and wants to complain - but with Chapman I noticed a constant pattern of the same complaint. Disrespectful. High pressure. Rude. Corrupt. Unethical. Over and over I read countless reviews about Chapman Ford in Scottsdale and was shocked to see so many complaints. Chapman Ford has almost a dozen complaints with the BBB alone due ton the same issues I experienced. In my caser, I was ripped off to the tune of $50,400.
This was not a service/maintenance issue; this was a NEW car buying experience. Something that most people look forward to. Getting a new car with the family, taking it for a drive, smelling that new car scent - all ruined by the stench of corrupt and unethical business practices at Chapman Ford in Scottsdale, Arizona. This was not a mistake on my end - flat out, Tom Berg (the Chapman Ford Salesman) is a 110% liar and a greedy little man. He has no problem filling his pockets with your money and knows just how to rip someone off like a professional.
Just know, the deal you make with Tom on Day 1 is not the deal you will get in the end. I will never again go to Chapman Ford (or Chapman anything for that matter) and I have now dedicated all my free time to raise awareness of the disrespect and unprofessional behavior at Chapman. In the end, my family is paying the price; while Tom Berg and John Halvorsen are laughing all the way to the bank.
John Halvorsen is no stranger to ripoffreport.com, his other car business (Halvorsen Motors) has been featured on here before for unethical practices and I am willing to bet Jerry and Mary Anne Chapman will not be pleased if they read this.
The General Manager is named John Halvorsen and he is specifically at fault for hiring such a crack pot of sales members, training them with unethical sales tactics and letting them loose on the public. In closing John, if you are reading this; I hope you and your wife Mary E Atkinson rot in h*** with the rest of the Chapman staff.
