I m writing this report to warn future renters to avoid volusia crossing apartments in daytona beach florida. the apartments are owned and or managed by cf lane. i signed a lease with them in may of 2014. for the first 4 months the complex was very nice to live in. everyone got along well, there was minimal crime, hardly anyone threw trash in the yard, it was peaceful with hardly any loud music from cars, and also we didnt have much of an insect issue in the units. well in the past 6 months myself as well as many other tenants have consistently complained about the topics mentioned above. people have been constantly blasting car stereos, throwing trash on the ground, we have had lots of bugs in the apartments despite the exterminator spraying weekly, we have had excessive cars in and out of two apartments which were suspected of dealing drugs. there have been numerous apartments raided by the police narcotics unit, and someone even vandalized the soda machine in the laundry room. and there is constant trash on the laundry room floor. many of the residents have complained to the property manager and nothing seemed to be done about it. things are still pretty bad here. we have called the police several times about the narcotic activity and about blasting music coming from cars speeding in and out of the complex. my neighbor even saw a man and woman having sex in their car out in the parking lot in plain sight. since im a positive person and i try to make a difference i clean up the laundry room and keep a watchful eye over the neighborhood to keep everyone safe. so i thought things would improve. i recently renewed my lease early because things at the complex have improved. well a few weeks ago things got bad again. more of the same. trash on the ground, speeding cars in parking lots, cars blasting music and lots of narcotic activity. many of the residents here feel unsafe. we feel the police cant do too much to help us because that job falls on the shoulders of the property manager. we feel the property manager isnt doing a very good job. many of us have called cf lane directly to address these issues and nothing seems to be done about them. also there seems to be a double standard there. some tenants do whatever they want and dont get punished while others seem to be repromanded constantly. i regret renewing my lease at volusia crossing. many other tenants feel the same way i do. the only good thing i can say is the apartments here are affordable. i recomend anyone whos looking for an apartment to avoid volusia crossing.
