I worked as a body and fender man fixing cars for over 30 years. Now that I'm retired, I paid a mechanic named Ray Hof to fix my overheating problem. He charged me 4 hours labor for a heater core he never replaced. I could see clearly he had not taken my dashboard apart so I replaced it myself. I went back to discuss it with him and he told me I was blocking customers from getting in and out of his shop. Their was no one their and now he was acting like a bully and being rude after I paid him. He does not stand behind his work! Beware. He does not follow standard trouble shooting procedures at all and didn't seem to know what the words trouble shooting procedures mean. He comes up with homemade ideas and does not know how to follow a standard checklist on trouble shooting procedures and does not show you your bad parts or give you your bad replaced parts back and does not point out exact things on parts that were bad and have to be replaced. In short, it is in my retired professional opinion of over 30 years of the same work he does and more that this man is not an educated mechanic that knows trouble shooting procedures to minimize the cost a customers vehicle repair. Im my personal opinion he is a first class con man and should be avoided. He is very polite at first to get you in the door but then as soon as you pay and then say you still have a problem with your vehicle, then he becomes very rude and tells you to leave and thats why I'm filing this complaint. His certifications on his wall must be internet or mail ordered because he was clueless to standard trouble shooting procedures. He wanted to change my head gasket and their was and still is nothing wrong with. Thats when I realized he is a run away train with your pocket book and then a mean bully when you still have the same problem with your car. Beware. He will not try to resolve any problems with any customer for any reason.
