YOU PEOPLE NEED HELP CENTURY LEGAL GROUP HELPED ME
Century legal has help me. I had 2 foreclosure sale dates. The legal group has helped
me thru the process. You can do it for free we all know. The free counselling service can only do but so much for free. Century legal group is not a scam... You have to help any law firm help you. You results are based off your previouse issue with your mortgage and going forth. You never here about the good people do you always here about the worst. I just wanted you know I received help. I'm still in my home with a great modification that I can afford.
The company promised to negotiate with the bank on my behalf and there would be no upfront fee. They got around this by taking money every two wereks from my account, They collectred paperwork but never forward it to the bank nor did they negotiate. Whenever I called them and told them to forward the papers to thr bank, they claimed they did not have the bank information because my account is now serviced by another bank. I contacted the new bank and got thhe information. When I called them, they requested that I not call so often to waste thir time because they had many clients. I told them my case had been referred to a foreclosure attorney and the matter was now urgent. they told me I should have paid my mortgage if I didn't want to be foreclosed. When I requested a refund or partial refund they requested it in writing. Once I did they refused to represent me anymore because they claimed I am no longer a client and I had signed papers that my deposit was nonrefundable. These attorneys are vultures who prey on the most vulnerable individuals who are experiencing financial crises. Consumers, please hold onto your money, these attorneys will do nothing for you. They claimed they did a lot of work for me because they obtained papers costing thousands of dollars. The papers consisted of a simple title search and they mailed them to me, didnt even seem to try to find improprieties in the papers. They have no shame and use their legal expertise to defraud the public rather than protect.
Century Legal group conned me into signing up for their home loan modification service. Dan Messina acted as if my income would be enough to qualify for the modification, but once I signed up and spoke with the paralegal...Arlene Walker I was notified that my income would NOT be enough to qualify. She kept trying to persuade me to source and add different forms of income. I realized that I had been tricked into signing up for this service. They tried to charge my card 3 times in once day. They were able to charge it twice before it declined since I transferred the money out. I spoke with Chris and Frank several times and both said that I could receive a refund, but no one has contacted me since. I am so hurt and said that they took advantage of my family like this. It is heart breaking. We needed that money to move to another home because we are having to let this house go. It is a sad shame what these people are doing. If you cant help someone THEN DON'T TRY...an honest company would just return the money. Even a portion of it. I am contacting a few different agencies to see if I have any rebuttal. Don't go with this company. DO your own modification or seek help from an honest company who really cares.
I tried to get a loan modification from Bank of America on my own, but when they had taken a years' worth of ""trial payments"" and still never sent paperwork to finalize said modification, BOA sold my mortgage to Green Tree. Green Tree then denied any knowledge of approval for modification or trial payments. I felt I was in over my head and needed help.
When I googled foreclosure attorneys, I actually thought I'd done due diligence in looking up Century Legal Group for fraud reports. Century Legal's Adam Carr did a masterful job of convincing me that they had dealt with many similar victims of BOA's underhanded dealings, and that their ""forensic audit"" would reveal whether I had received proper credit for the tens of thousands I'd given BOA in ""trial payments"". I signed on. $3500 and 6 months later...they are now not answering any of their phone numbers.
They never did any sort of audit on the BOA file. Supposedly they had been ""working with my lender on a modification"" and I had been receiving reports from my assigned Paralegal every 10 days saying ""I just spoke with your lender. They say your file is still being processed, nothing new needed at this time."" For all I know, Green Tree has already set a sale date for my property, and I'd be none the wiser thanks to Century Legal.
Let me repeat: They are now not even answering any of their phone numbers. I think this bunch of scammers is in the wind.
I engaged this organization based on good faith that they would perform services as it relates to a loan modification and forensic audit of my mortgage loan. When I received the agreement, I read it carefully and understoof that they would charge my credit card AFTER services were performed.
The first level of service was that the attorney of record would engage me in an introduction session (which did not occur). However, I was charged for services. The chunking of services and payment for services were approximately two weeks apart and there were 5 payments for $700 each. I asked questions early on about their services, follow-up with my lender and wanted details about who they spoke with and what exactly was given to the lender. Not long after being engaged with a paralegal, she apparently ""left"" without any communication from CenturyLegal. I only found out AFTER I reached out to them and the new paralegal sent me an email introducing herself.
Not long after they submitted my loan modification paperwork, I was denied a loan modification by my lender (I understand now that I should not have included my domestic partner in the process regarding household income and such based on the circumstances, which Century Legal should have advised based on the circumstances and didn't). As I attempted to reach out to the attorney of record to understand next steps and why I never spoke with him in the beginning (perhaps we could have done things differently based on the lenders feedback), he would not respond to me or engage me and pawned me off on the paralegal (who could not help). The paralegal then engaged her manager who said she would assist in working with the lender to understand how to proceed (this never happened either AFTER several missed appointments on her part to return my calls). Ultimately, I asked for a refund due to lack of services and violating MARS as well as the first step of the entire agreement of never engaging with the attorney of record in my introductory session. The attorney of record, Jim Kutkowski told me my request was denied. He further even went on to say that he had spoken with me on several occassions, even though I had never spoken with him EVER.
I have filed a report with the FTC as well as disputing all transactions on my credit card accounts. This organization has responded to my credit card companies with lies (as well as a copy of a forensic report that they NEVER shared with me).
I have since been able to work with my lender on the issues myself and it hasn't costed me anything. This organization charges $3500 to do absolutely nothing other than submit paperwork that you end up doing all the work in completing anyway. There was no quality control check to ensure documentation, hardship letter or otherwise were completed correctly or advise on how best to present the information given to the lender. My individual circumstances were never considered to create a strategic plan to engage the lender for negotiation purposes - though they claim that this is part of their process. They did not engage my lender AT ALL to attempt to modify my loan and/or understand ""why"" my modification was originally denied. I ended up having to do this all on my own because of promises by them to work with me and setting up conferences with me and then not contacting me when they said they would. Lynn Butler, on four occasions had appointments set-up with me to discuss and she never called me. When I called her at the time she said she would call me, she would either answer the phone and say, ""I am so sorry, I got tied, I promise I would call you before close of business today"" (and not call) or she would not answer the phone and I would leave her a message (with a follow-up email as well).
I encourage anyone to NOT engage them in services - you really do not get them.
