I took my desk top computer in for a free estimate in the morning and was informed they would get back to me that afternoon with the diagnosis. 2 weeks later I called and still no information. Several days later I went back to their shop and was told that they would have the computer the next day. I went back a couple days later and they said I owed them $60 plus tax for repairs, but that my resolution may be less now than I was used to but I could bring it back again and pay more for the same resolution on my monitor that I already had. I told them I had not authorized any repairs but reluctantly paid the money as they would not release my computer to me otherwise. When I got home and tried to plug the monitor back into the computer there was no place to plug it in, and the socket was gone and there was a big empty hole in the back of my computer. I then called them back and asked where the new replacement part was and they said they would have to ask the technician, so I called the technician and he said there was no part he had just rigged it to work yet the video card was now gone.
..... I then took my computer to another shop and they said no work at all was done on my computer and the video card was indeed missing and that I was hoodwinked. I will have a full written report in a couple days from now to confirm these facts from a reputable repair shop that is a member of the BBB.
