Let me first off by telling you about my relationship with this comapany, I have been a long standing customer to Ccon Metal. I work at a busy automotive shop and have sold used batteries and Catalysts to Ccon metals for approximitely 5 years. My initial dealings with Ccon were wonderful. The gentleman that serviced our shop was wonderful, always on time always paid cash and never cheated me on prices. About 3 years into our relationship prices were continually dropping (at no fault of the employee) he would tell me that's what they were allowed to pay for that particular week as the boss had set out price lists for the employees to follow. I soon felt that my relationship was with the young fellow and not with CCon itself and I continued to be a loyal customer to the guy who serviced my shop. I started getting phone calls from the head office of Ccon inquiring about how much I was "actually" paid per visit. The young man always wrote me up a chit and paid me what was on both our copies. The first phone call I recieved I didn't think much of it, but then a few weeks later I received another call inquiring if in fact I was paid cash by the man who took my scrap products, weird right? a little time passes by and about a month Later I get another call from the head office and this time from the owner who is questioning me about how much I had been paid. It was apparent that he had thought his employee had been giving me less money than what was reported and pocketing the rest. I keep a very tidy bookkeeping system and I was able to pull out all my Chits and tell him exactly how much the man had paid me. The owner kept questioning me, asking I was in on it and was told to give me those numbers and admitted that his employee was up on suspicion of theft. Everything I had on paper matched everything they had on paper, The owner was very upset with me and and accused me of lying, I was very confused. So fast forward a year or so. My relationship with the employee from Ccon contunied, I had no reason to doubt his purchases, I have the internet, I have the abilitiy to make calls and check the prices of commodities on we went. Son after I was told by the employee that he and another employee of CCon were leaving the company and going into business for themselves, I also received a letter from Ccon stating this fact. The letter stated that the two were going on their own, and they wished the two of them well and would maintain a close working relationship.
A month after the two opened up shop I got several phone calls from Ccon head office stating that the two former employees were in breech of contract and that they were buying my product illegally. Can you even have such a contract on recycled materials?? They are my materials and I can choose who to sell them or donate too. I in not so many words told them to Eff off and stop calling my shop, I was a loyal customer to the former employee of Ccon who now owns and operates his own business. The story doesn't end here, I then get a visit from Ccon employees from other parts of the province, they made a "cold" call hoping to get my business back. They came to my shop with a bunch of paper work that they said was legal business proving that the two were in breech, however he wouldn't even let me hold the said documents which right away drew red flags and alarm bells. They showed me the new prices they were willing to pay as well as the price lists from the two other guys I am currently selling to. I happened to have a recent invoice from the two nice fellas that was on completely different letterhead so I knew they were falsified documents they were showing me. I politely asked these two men to leave my shop and never return. I also promised them that I would be spreading the word to the masses that they were a bunch of crooks and would never get another thing from me in my lifetime. and now today.... what has stirred up this little note, the tip of the iceberg. I get a visit from some government employees asking if I have been selling the the two new guys, I am honest and tell them yes, and they tell me that the two are breaking the law by transporting materials illegally. I'm shocked at this point as I didn't even realize that catalytic converters and old radiators were a hazard, and I felt immediately that I have possibly been doing something wrong by even storing as much as I do. They ask for all the paper work for sales I have given them. They sit stunned for a few minutes quietly whispering to themselves while looking over my last invoice. They then ask me where the batteries are and why they are not on the list. Light bulb goes off and I take to the back of my shop where I show them a pallet of batteries that the young man wasn't able to purchse from me. He asked me to hold on to them as they were in the process of getting the proper documents to be able to haul lead acid batteries which is a dangerous good. The two looked at each other and appologized for wasting my time as they had been misinformed about the operations of the new business.
Stay away from Ccon Metal, they are a bunch of crooks, liars, theives and all around terrible businessmen. And they wonder why the other two left the company? stop looking outward Ccon start looking inward.
