We purchased a ~$51,000 GMC Denali HD Truck from the Greensboro, NC location and put a trade value of ~$7K and a $10,100.00 down payment in the form of a business check. The check was ACH transferred in 24 hours on a weekend. The second day of driving the truck to and from job sites the check engine light came on. Took it to my trusted mechanic and it is most likely an O2 sensor. No problem, we also purchased the MaxCare plan and it's under warranty. Later the same day the cruise control stopped functioning, leading me to believe the 125 point inspection is a joke. So we decided it was time to take advantage of the 5 day no questions asked return policy. The staff at the location made this a quick and painless process, however, they informed us that the refund check for the down payment would be mailed to us within 7 - 10 business days. I didn't mail them the down payment in 7 - 10 business days. They drew the money from my account almost immediately. I full expected to have the money back in the same fashion. You have 14 days to have credit checks on your account if you are searching for a new car, mortgage, loan, etc before you get dinged again, so I don't have the luxury of waiting 7-10 business days to get the down payment back that I need to put down on a truck at an actual car dealership. We have bought 3 cars from Carmax in the past with absolutely no issue. Needless to say they have lost a customer for life in us. I will also make sure my friends, family, and business contacts know of this unacceptable business practice so they don't get burned as well.

After just having our 2006 Acura TL for one week my wife totaled it. Thankfully we had purchased gap insurance through Carmax for $600. The insurance company worked with Carmax and handled the payoff. Carmax called a week later saying we owed the difference amount of $2,500. My wife told them we had gap insurance and the lady apologized stating their records we're not updated. She stated they were just waiting on the police report. The insurance company had provided this when they handled the payoff.

We filed paper work with carmax for the gap insurance claim and they stated the remander would be paid off. However, 3 months later Carmax contacted us stating that we still owed them the remander $2500 and they were voiding the gap insurance without a explanation or a refund. We tried to dispute the claim but by then carmax already sold the debt off to a collector and gave us nothing but a run around on the phone an in person. Carmax is just another big bullying corporation who gets a kick out of scamming and ripping off hard working honest people.

I was told by my salesman that all car max go threw a 125 point inspection which I was lied to and it was a total misrepresentation. I was sold a Cadillac. A junk from the day I took it out of the lot. I have so many thing wrong with it, it proved they never did a 125 inspection. I had to rent cars so I could do my work, because I was ready to lose my job. I was unable to do my job I lost so much money whit that junk car hat I was sold by car max that I did not have an option to give it back to the lender. So not just buying a junk car was I harmed but now I have a reposition on my credit.

I have service records from the day I took the car out of the car max lot.

I am filing a complaint with the Delores Division. with the State Of Florida.

These people are crooks. They sold me a faulty car with the premise that it was still under factory warranty. I specifically asked both my sales representative and the finance manager to confirm the car was in fact under warranty. After 3 weeks with my car the service engine soon light, and well as, the Break light came on. That Sunday the service department was closed, so I took my car to a BMW dealer because I was initially told the car was under factory warranty. BMW examined my car and estimated a total of $2000 worth of repairs because, lo and behold, the car had been out of warranty for over 4 months. I then attempted to schedule an appointment with Carmax within the "30-day guarantee" and they weren't able to accommodate me.

I sent 2 emails, and called multiple times speaking to several "Managers" who would not assist in getting me an appointment or recognizing the lie that my salesman Armando told me. Brake light, service engine soon light, transmission issues, you name it my car has it! NOT A SINGLE PERSON has been able to return my calls. I have spoken to various "Managers" with the promise of a call back and NOONE has done so. I contacted Carmax on December 21st, 4 days before my 30-days was up (thats when my car began showing signs of damage). Today is now January 19th, and yet no one is able to assist me. I have visited the store twice and both times the front desk has assured me that the manager would contact me, again, a lie.

I purchased a loan agreement with carmax auto finance in 2008

First of all the lady home sold me the car ran my credit 7 times as i wanted to know the variations of payments and times also different vehichles

this i disscovered a year later to my surprise when i went to purchase a house and my credit was bad due to so many hits

Obviously carmax employ anyone at anytime with no prior sales knowledge

This i overloocked and continued on my merry way until 2012 when i had difficulties in keeping my payments current due to the economic crisis of the country

Not only did carmax change the rules as how to and how you are allowed to pay without notifiying all their current and on going customers i was told i could only pay by credit card over the phone when i was 30 days past due

Wow what a crazy way to do bussines or is it just a ploy to let the customer get into more debt charge late fees and or towing charges and all the other that goes with it

To cut a long story short my car was repossed after trying to make my payments speaking with customer services agreeing terms and then bang my car was gone

Then starts more fun

Not only do you have a towing company from carmax or should i say employed by carmax they then ship it out to some local low life towing company whom have no customer service skills whatso ever they then take your perssonel belongings out of your vehicle tresspass on your property with out permiission ie. locked gates with no tresspasing signs clearly visable to get your car back costs approximatley $2000.00 or more including your time tracking the car to find where and whom has it then dealing with people whome have no education and the language of choice is not printable

My point being is why would anyone collecting loan payments make it so difficult to PAY!

I have my own company and trust me if someone cakled me and agreed to pay i would give them every option available

I think most likely that this is a huge money making scam for carmax auto finnacing
