This ATM is located in Target, well lighted safe area at a customer service desk. I had used it before and since it is part of the Allpoint network there are no ATM fees. I had $414 in this account and requested $400. The machine seemed to function correctly as usual but I was shocked to see the receipt said $400 however only dispensed $200.
I checked my account online immediately and discovered that indeed they did deduct the entire $400. I informed the customer service desk at Target and of course they could do nothing since the machine is owned by Cardtronics and they have no key so they suggested I call the number on the machine, which I did. The number only allows you to leave a voice mail and tells you to contact your card issuer, which I did next. I was told that Cardtronics/Allpoint service will investigate and contact my card issuer within 45 days (45 days!!!) but within 10 days I will receive the $200 back as a courtesy service while the investigation proceeds.
Seriously? Do they not service this machine and count the money ast least every few days??!!! Why would it take them 45 days?
Now nearly 45 minutes wasted and still I have $200 taken from me and possibly waitiing 10 days for my account to be credited, and will they even allow the credit to stay after their "investigation"?
On 7/24/15 I went to withdraw funds from the Cardtronics ATM located in Winn Dixie, 3200 North Ashley Street, Valdosta, Ga. I had $363 on my card and requested withdrawal of $300. The machine only dispensed $120, yet claimed via my receipt that they had dispensed $300.
We immediately reported this to Winn Dixie management, who contacted cardtronics and reported the issue. My husband also talked to the service rep from cardtronics on Winn Dixie's phone. The company states they cannot do anything about it.
Now, I am forced to file some sort of Reg E form which will take up to 45 days. I honestly do not expect to get my money without a legal fight. I was advised that the company only balances the ATM once a month. These company's should be held accountable for the machines they place in retail outlets.
Upon research, I have found that I am far from the only person who has had this sort of problem with Cardtronics. I think a class action lawsuit with punitive damages would be a great idea.
