I ordered a dash cam from 'car camera direct.com' on Dec.3 2014. Delivery time 4-8 business days, according to the website.
The Last week of Dec. 2014 I still had not received my parcel and called car cam direct. I was told my parcel had been delivered that day and I was also given a tracking number. According to Canada post this parcel was on route from China sent on Dec.18, 2014 (11 business days after ordering)
Jan.12, 2015 I called car cam direct asking about the status of my parcel. I was told that USPS had delivered it to Canada post and it was in their hands. But it never was handled by USPS since it was shipped direct from China.
Jan.14,2015 I again called car cam direct to find out where my package was. This time I was given a new tracking number. This number says my parcel was on route from China sent on Jan.10, 2015 (5 weeks after ordering) when I asked about the 2 tracking numbers I was told the first number was a mistake on their end and belongs to someone else.
Jan.20, 2015 I put a claim in with PayPal for a refund.
Jan.22, 2015 I received a PayPal rebuttal from car cam direct after disputing it and asking for a refund. They now claim "1/22/2015 02:52 GMT-05:00 - Seller: the item was returned back to us, and it was resent."
I don't believe it has ever sent. Now that PayPal is involved, they are making up more lies. Trying to avoid refunding my money back to me.
I've seen there advertisement on Amazon.com and they receive payment with Paypal. So going through these 2 companies I didn’t think the camera company would be dishonest. I bought through a company in Florida and item would ship in a few days. I discovered that item was coming from China, it took about 3 weeks. Camera wouldn’t record. I called there phone number, I emailed from there website and also there live chat with a “Christine”. She’s sorry and knows I’m frustrated, this has been going on over 3 months. Shouldn’t Amazon and Paypal be aware of this scam?
I ordered a camera from this group, only to try to retract it seconds later once I read online that they were asking way too much for their product. They would not answer their telephone number (said to call back during normal business hours, but did not state what those hours were). I also tried the online chat button, only for it to say that no one was available. So I used their online email contact button, I asked that they cancel the order. This was on June 27, on June 30th they say they shipped the item anyway and charged my pay-pal and that it was too late for me to cancel it (even though I sent them the email to cancel 3 days earlier).
It turns out they shipped from Hong Kong (even though they say they are based in Miami FL). Well, the item never arrived, when I told them that, they said that it was out of their control and that I would need to take it up with the carrier USPS. Well USPS says the only one that can complain and to have the item investiagted is the sending party. They also said that the sending party should have required a signature and should have also insured the item in case it got lost in transit, none of which this company did.
When I told these folks this, they said too bad so sad, nothing they could do for me (so they basically just ripped me off $150). When I brought this up to pay-pal, they refused to also give me back my money since there was a tracking number that something (who knows what) was sent, even though there was no proof it ever was actually delivered.
I ordered camear from carcameradirect.com on Dec 31, 2013 and received it on Jan 13th, 2014. to my surprise, package showed it was delivered from China. i would never placed order if i knew company is based in China. on their website, the address is listed as

Instead of high quality product as it was advertised I received just a cheap Chinese junk! so i contacted customer server right the way to return. they sent me email instructions to return to Hong Kong! what a mess!! without having any options, i sent it back via USPS and costed me $20. i still not receive my refund 4 months later. i called customer service and the lady said my order status showed refund is already processed. But, i told her i didnt get credit back to my credit card. she said she cant do anything and i have to get in touch with billing department through ticket system on their website. i submitted tickets so many times to their phony ticket system and never got response. i called customer service again and asked if there is phone number for billing department. she said billing department is not reachable by phone. i told her if i cant directly contact billing department, as a customer service, she should be helping to track the ticket. she said she cant help and hang up. This is my first devastating buying online experience. lesson learned and regret a lot that i didnt do research about this company before placing order. i now see lots of complaints about this company and BBB Business Review gave them ""F"" rating. i feel powerless. i wish my money goes to donation instead of being cheated by this company.

I ordered a dashcam and paid lots extra ($69) thinking I was getting what they advertised but when it showed up, I knew I had been ripped off with a imitation piece of junk. The lense assembly was loose and hanging out the front, the batter only lasts 10 minutes, the LED screen door won't close after using a few times, the attachment adjustment knobs both broke off within two days. Even when they were tight, the camera still moved.
The video is extremely fuzzy and there is no detail. No way is it close to 720p or 1080 for sure. The video processor was switched with a cheaper one. I had to take it apart to glue the lens back and discovered the inferior processor. Upon inspecting the lens assy I could see wear and scratches on the lens itself.
I waited 5 weeks for this thing. I got the very same camera fron another outfit and it worked great and for only $19.99.
he video is so bad it's not even worth using it for anything at all. The colors are all wrong too, only blue and gray with some color hinting on very brightly colored object. It will not read a license plate right in front of you in daytime.
I paid extras for the 16 gigabyte sdhc card but instead recieved a very cheap mini sd card in a sd adapter.
They hide in China and have no guarrantee unless you like to pay for shipping to and from China for more than it's worth to bother. But I would nit trust them at all to send the real camera I paid dearly for. I can not affoed another $50 for shipping when they are the ones that burned me once, but will not burn me again.
My advice is to stay away from CarCameraDirect. I am working with Visa to get a full refund and I am not sending this junk camera back, it goes in the trashcan nows. lesson learned. Never order anything that has to be shipped from China. Furthermore, they charged my card immediately and kept the funds for over 1 month before they even bothered to ship the fake camera.
