I bought my second Havanese from Kathy 5-1/2 years ago (the first coming from another good breeder). Rikka has been a wonderful addition to the family and is deeply loved! She's energetic, curious, and an extraordinarily fast learner...smart as a proverbial whip! She was, like her brother, the star pupil in puppy training.
And now I'm coming back for a baby sister or two-- that's how confident I am that we'll have a similar experience to the delightful one we've had with Rikka!
I wasn't going to respond to the letter above, but As I read it I felt like a comment from a third party might be beneficial to someone down the road. Havanese, like virtually ANY breed of dog, have to be trained. They're like kids: if there's no discipline, consistency and expectations set, those children can become rotten little, and then big, kids. It's the same with puppies. If they know you're not in charge, they'll happily step into that spot and take control. Training and consistency is key with pups and (dare I say) kids.
But I'm back on subject again...to being happy that I'm getting at least one--maybe two?!-- from Kathy to fill my house with even more laughter, snuggles and Havanese runs!
Canyon Hills Havanese Lake Elsinore California owner "Beverly" Sold us a Havanese puppy and guaranteed me if there is any health or temperment issues she would replace the puppy or refund us. We have had the dog for a while now and she is having alot of temperament issues and even bit my grandson twice. When strangers come to the house we have to put her away or she will constently bark and growl at them. We did nothing to cause this and we love her alot but she is very difficult to say the least. When I called Beverly at Canyon Hills Havanese to discuss the situation her number only rings the "busy" and her website looks almost abandoned. I would like to return or exchange the dog. We love the breed but this dog has issues. I found another Canyon Hills Havanese in Florida and hoped that same people own the kennel but its a completly different breeder that has no knowledge of this Beverly person. If this Woman is still in Business she needs to keep her word and replace my dog. I would recomend avoiding this breeder to anyone shopping for a puppy.
There is not Canyon Hills in Lake Elsinore someone is writing these bad reviews that have never purchased a dog from Canyon Hills in FL. If you purchased a dog from someone else I am sorry.. But you never purchase a dog from the true Canyon Hills Havanese. There is NO Beverly at Canyon Hills Havanese...
I never sold this Lady above a dog. I live in Florida and she purchased the dog in Bath MI. What is this person talking about.. Return the dog to whom ever you bought it from.. I will sue you for slander and this website if I see this up any longer.
