Campingworld of Columbia sold us a camper that was already rotten due to the roof leaking, before we bought it.
We purchased this travel trailer on May 23, 2013, and were assured that this unit had, or would be inspected from top to bottom, side to side, front to back, and inside to out, and if any problems were found, they would be fixed.
WHAT A BIG, FAT LIE!
We just found out, in the end of April, 2014, that the tunnel box under the front of the camper, and under the master bed was so rotten, you could push your finger through the luan boarding, with ease. We took the unit back to CW, to get an estimate of how much it would cost to fix, upon the advice of our insurance adjuster.
Long story short, the adjuster and the service writer inspected our unit, found the rotten roof, and other damage from the water leak. The estimate was for $8000 on a unit we only paid $16,800 for, the overinflated $2495, 4 year extended warranty, was not worth the paper it was printed on, and the insurance adjuster said that they would not cover water damage. Of course, CW adimantly declined to repair the unit, stating that it was our problem from failure to maintain the unit, someting that THEY were supposed to do, before we bought it!!! Either they didn't do it, or it was a case of very poor workmanship on their part, but we are to be left holding the bag here!!
Someone at CW even admitted, if the roof was sealed when we bought it, they sealed over an already rotten roof, because that amount of rot does NOT occur in 11 months!
