Lost my Nikon DSLR lens cap on the Haunted Mansion ride. Disney does not have a store that sells replacement parts. We had another 8 days of vacation, so I googled camera shops and we went to find one of them on a trip to another area in Orlando.
One of the camera shops was on International Drive, and as we were driving there we spotted this store. We decided to stop in---I only needed a replacement lens cap and wanted a lens keeper as well.
Entered the store, salesperson came right over, and I told him that I had lost my lens cap, and wanted a replacement one as well as a stick-on lens keeper. He took my camera from me, went down behind the service counter towards the back of the store, and came back with a new lens already on my camera, along with the new lens keeper stuck in place and looped onto my camera.
I said 'Great', and he told me to follow him to another area to pay. I was going to pay cash, until he said it would be $47.91. I said "WHAT? For a lens cap and keeper?" I had purchasd a similar set in Canada in 2010 for less than $10.
He told me that that is what I told him I wanted, and now it was opened and on the camera. And that that is what they cost. Stupid me---I should have said no and had him take it off the camera, but I could sense it would not go well and wanted to just get out of the store. So handed him my credit card, paid and left.
The lens he gave me was a piece of junk. Very hard to get on and off the lens, unlike my original NIKON lens cap with the spring load. There was no name on the cap---likely a $2 piece of garbage.
Upon returning home, I went to Amazon to order a new NIKON lens cap and keeper, which I got for UNDEr $5 for both items, including shipping.
