This lousy company has charged me with 3 late penaltys when none was the truth, also they recieved a payment , said it was lost cashed the replacement check and then cashed the supposely lost check 30 days later, then charged me a fee , this has cost me personally and financlly, I cannot get another loan because of the late payments, these people bought out my old mortgage company 2 years ago, never had any problems with them, nothing but problems with these people,
We just received a "Mortgage Statement" from Caliber Home Loans yesterday with a new amount $88+change HIGHER than our fixed mortgage payment, which we've been paying for consistently the same amount on time since FlagStar Mortgage (without asking us) switched us over to Caliber maybe 6 months ago. I just read how this happened to another victim who was told they were being charged a penalty fee for late property taxes. Identical situation, except I CANNOT contact Caliber!! I was waiting with their automated voice system for 45 minutes on hold today, with no way to leave a message, and I'm afraid my credit will be damaged if I don't pay them this extra $88. Same thing -- THEY are supposed to pay our property taxes and home insurance out of what we pay them monthly. I sent them TWO emails off their website with no response, except one strange-looking email that said "email delayed - wait another 24 hours to see if text goes through."
I finally went to RipOff Report to investigate and sure enough, they have a bad rep! Besides reporting this here, what can people like us DO? Please advise! When I went to their website, I did look for alternative phone numbers. I also found some comments from people who were also frustrated trying to get through to them, and they said to call and hit the "Spanish-speaking button" on their phone system and a human being will pick up. I haven't tried that yet. HAD NO TIME LEFT! Another possible number to reach them is: 1-866-940-2335 - this may be the Spanish-speaking option phone number, not sure.
Caliber Home Loans has made it virtually impossible to get a loan modification. They have requested that we provide the same information over and over again. Each time, delaying the process yet ANOTHER 6 weeks. We have been on this never ending ride for over 6 months with no end in sight. I truly believe they have NO interest or intention to modify the loans of people in desperate need of loan modification of those struggling to stay in their homes.

I have had a mortgage for over twenty years, due to illness in my family I was unable to meet my mortgage payments.
Caliber home loans told me that I qualified for a morgage modification. This process started a year ago and after
100 phone conversations three totoal document packets and countless faxes and mailings these people are
foreclosing on me while they are still processing my morgage modification. They told me several months ago that I needed
to pay them $2500 and that would do it so I pawned my car and they changed their minds, I am now responsible for paying
double my money back to the pawn company and Caliber has my $2500 in ""escrow"". If I live to be 100yrs old I will never
understand how they sleep at night doing these awful things. The sheriff have served me with my foreclusure papers
and those morons say send in more of the same documents and that might help and wished me luck.
