I ordered a pizza from morrettis in Schaumburg il back in April, and bring me that has taken 7.95 out of my account for the last nine months. I’ve emailed the company to not take it out several times with no replies, and I’ve called but there’s only a recording. I’ve never signed up for this , but can’t get anywhere with this company!!
I didn't order premium service but they signed me up without my knowledge. I went in and under my profile was able to cancel this Premium service after I noticed a charge to my card. They automatically set you up to premium membership whether you ask for it or not.
This company is a scam. They take your money from your credit card or PayPal, the CALL the business using a phony Credit Card Number, it gets declined. You now have to hope you get your money back from CC. DONT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!!
I have been perfectly happy for many years ordering food, especially pizza and chinese, online. If online unavailable, I just called the restaurant and placed my order, then picked it up or had it delivered. Now, suddenly Pizza Hut and Papa Johns have added Bring Me That and thrown a third party into the mix that is charging service fee ($4.50!!!). What a waste of my money! I will avoid ordering from any restaurant using Bring Me That. I personally do not see any need for this service and adamantly resent Pizza Hut and Papa Johns throwing them into the mix. If enough consumers do this, we can hopefully force Bring Me That out of business. Total scam!!!
I ordered a couple items as large sized, and an orange chicken. Nothing complex about it. Select and click. Then I keyed my name and address into some blanks.
In the blank for special instructions, I stated not to send it for delivery. This is for pick-up. An email confirmation came in, and I took off.
When I got to the restaurant, the first thing I noticed was that the menu prices were lower than the online prices. Next, while I talked to the cashier who didn't have my order for pickup, and had no idea what online menu service I was talking about (they had no computer in the whole place), I got a phone call from their irate driver asking where my street was. Yes, even though I keyed in not to deliver it. The street name was all garbled and didn't match anything in town. I apologized and asked him to please bring it back to the shop.
The food order cut my large items to smalls(!), and changed my orange chicken to chicken wings. In addition, the receipt was 9 dollars lower than what I'd paid to bringmethat.com with my credit card. The restaurant was paid with a VISA that wasn't mine.
That tells me that this online company received my credit card number and took my money. They took their own credit card, phoned the restaurant, and called in my order for me. This is after they posted a more expensive menu than what the restaurant uses, and upcharged accordingly. But furthermore, they got an item wrong, downsized two more, and skimmed the additional price differences. Then they ignored instructions to leave for pickup, and sent the driver to a fake street. For all that trouble, they overcharged me $9 than what I'd have paid had I phoned in the order from home.
This company doesn't even add a value to the process, like running to the restaurant and delivering to your home. All they do is insert themselves into your web search results, take your credit card, phone in your order (in this case, incorrectly) and overcharge you for the inconvenience.
So first let me say that I haven't used this service personally but this review while it has some legitimate concerns makes no sense.
Why go through a third party delivery site for a pickup order?!?!?
Second yes, the prices for a third party delivery site are going to be higher than in store ordering directly from the restaurant they are a THIRD PARTY that is placing an order for you than picking it up and delivering it to you.
It clearly spells all this out in their webpage, acting like it didn't is outright dishonest.
While them getting your order wrong is concerning, that's the only legitimate consern in this review.
Details to follow, but let me first suggest if you have used (or like me, attempted to use) Bring Me That, PLEASE, check your credit card statement very carefully. They signed me up for a recurring $8.95 charge, for what, I have no idea. I immediately tried to call the company and got a recorded message with no options other than to email their customer service. I emailed, then alerted my credit card company (Discover) to tell them to dispute the $8.95 charge because the company cancelled my order.
I just received a reply from Bring Me That customer service in which they stated:
"As for the charge, apparently you are in one of our subscriptions that is why you see a recurring charge on your account. You might have mistakenly clicked on the subscription button upon checkout as it is right above the checkout button. But don't worry we will go ahead and cancel the subscription as well as refunding back the charge that was taken out of your account. If you have any further questions please feel free to email us back on this thread. Thank you and have a nice day!"
This is why I want to alert people that this company apparently has a button "right above the checkout button" that automatically enrolls you in some sort of subscription with a recurring charge, unbelievable! I suggest if you use this company you take multiple screen shots of each page. I am a cautious person and am positive I did not see any button to enroll in a subscription, nor did I receive any notification that I supposedly enrolled in a subscription.
Now for the details of my one star review. I thought I'd give this company a try, so I ordered a few things from a local restaurant, using Bring Me That. Well over an HOUR LATER, I received an email stating they cancelled my order because the restaurant recently updated their menu and the items I wanted were no longer offered. The email stated I would see a reimbursement for charges, but it may take a couple days. I placed a phone order with the restaurant for the same items Bring Me That said were no longer offered, and my husband picked it up.
A week and a half later, the charge was still on my credit card. That's when I noticed it listed as a recurring charge.
Bring Me That customer service did reply to my email, so I give them one star for that. Now to see if my charge is refunded.
Says the guy likely with no or terrible delivery service if people are considering paying more for a third party delivery service.
they set up automatic monthly charge and i NEVER signed up for this.
canceled and assume they will comply.
