March 18,2015. Went into the physical address for Brighthouse cable on Sr 64. I wanted to lower my bill. I removed all premium television stations at this time. I have autopay set up so I didn't notice I was being billed for more premium stations than I had before until may 19th. $65 a moth plus tax. I called and spoke to Rafael at 4:46 pm on the 19th. After an hour and a half on the phone and several refusals to connect me to a manager, he assured me his manager had put in an order to refund me the full $195.
He simply told me to wait 1-4 business days for it to post to my checking account. I called back 5 business days later after receiving no refund. I spoke with a woman named Olga this time who said the report still had no authorization and that I should call back tomorrow afternoon. Begrudgingly, I called back the next day on may the 29th at 2:19 pm. Speaking to Louis was aggrevating to say the least. Nearly impossible to understand, he did his best to be overlery nice while telling me there is nothing he can do. I then demanded to speak to his supervisor. Actually getting the supervisor Marcus on the line was akin to pulling teeth. Forty minutes later Marcus was on the line explaining to me that they had discounted my incorrect bill by less than the agreed upon amount and there was nothing more he could do.
My routine bill was supposed to be $170.46 and they were discounting a bill for over $250 down to $100.51. This was in reality a credit of only $69.96. So when I asked Marcus how he planned to make it right on the $125.04 still owed to me, he said we've done all that we can do. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he refused saying there is no one else. I blatantly asked him if he knew what his company was doing was illegal and he said yes, and everything seems ok to him. Feeling like I was about to be yelling at a brick wall from this point forward I hung up the phone. It blows my mind that a company as large as this can get away with fraudulently charging its customers and then refusing to make it right. I've been a customer of theirs for 5 years now and coming this next month, I won't be anymore.
Origional complaint slow download speeds 30mbps service getting most 10mbps
Tech came out said everything ok and that I need the geek squad because it was my network
ok I get the geek squad they say my network is ok $150.00 charge
call back they say must be the computers.
ok I buy a new dell top of the line 800 bucks later. WELL still download speeds bad
Got 950 bucks invested to prove its not my equipment, cant get any one to hel me through normal channells.
Contact the presidents off, they send out a new tech and replace there existing router with a new router and WALA! speeds great. Ok this funs just starts!
About 2 weeks everything is ok im felling good Wife is happy thats importand and wake up one morning and Brighthouse has shut off my wireless connectivity throughout my home only can connect wired connection.
Not only that they treated this service call as an upgrade and unbenounced to me they charged me for echo I didnt order, blew my promotion out and tried charging me for standard TV, Regular TV, and echo service now my bill goes from about 108 per month to 150 per month.
I call back now keep in mind I have had very little wireless throughout the home and bad download speeds and spent over 900 bucks for over 2 months now. To prove it there router modem was defective.
The tech I talked to said I cant have wireless in the house now unless I have echo turned on
I am not sure where this will go but I am not stopping here

Brighthouse says they 'lost' the payment, although our bank said in writing, Brighthouse had taken the payment. Brighthouse without warning turned the internet off on Thanksgiving Day, '13. After many hours of personal visits to their local office, telephone calls and emails, they refused to accept our written proof of payment. We returned their equipment, I sent an email to their CEO complaining of the problem, there was no answer.
Brighthouse referred to a collection agency, we received countless robo-calls from their computer, demanding payment and threatening legal action. I contacted the Better Business Bureau when it appeared they would not listen to reason. Within two weeks, the collection agency harrassment stopped.
I had learned for the 2.5 years they had been 'bill-cramming' including charging use for use of their modem, which we never had.
So, I would like to recover the payments for non-existent equipment and any other changes they'd made that were fictitious or otherwise incorrect.
Recently I realized that do to the bright house schedule of shows that it is impossible for me to record the 2 shows per hour that I am paying for. largely do to scheduling practices of the network. about 6 months ago I noticed that some of my shows were having conflicts and would not record. I then noticed that it was do to some shows lasting all of two minutes longer than others. I assume it is so they can jam a few more commercials in.
So here is my delima. I contacted Bright house and let them know that it is impossible for me to record my 2 shows per hour as they promote is capable of their DVR that I am not only renting the box but also paying the service for. Customer Service told me that I could correct the problem by getting the newer 6 programs an hour DVR but that it would be a cost to me of an additional $5 per month.
In my eyes this is simple fraud. they rent me a box to record 2 shows an hour, That is what they say and promote on posters and website and verbage. So how come when I approach them and say this is not the case they blame the networks for the programing and not their own service. they say they have no control and there is nothing they can do but charge me for more recording options. I feel they are just trying to get customers to rent their larger box to make money and they are not living up to their monthly contract with me.
I would love to start a class action suit against them, they are just bullies and they should not get away with it. my next move is the FCC this although a small item adds to big dollars when they are doing it to everyone.
At the end of 2005 Brighthouse networks dug a trench 3ft deep and all the way across my front yard, they started on the west side of my driveway, dug under the driveway an dug under the driveway on the east side also, and this was done when i was at work, but when i got home about 7:00pm on thurseday night my front yard was all distroyed along with my sprinkler system, shooting water every where to the point my water bill increased, the next day i called brighthouse and they told me that they didn't do this, it must have been the electric company but i called lake county property records and asked if anyone filed paper work for a contract to dig a trench 16ft off the easement and they told me no contract has been filed, and Brighthouse never called my house or cell and they had the e-mail address included also, now i the owner covered up the ditch they dug and brighthouse refused to even come over to take just one look refusing there not the ones who did this to my property, the next thing i needed was to pay for all the parts to repair the sprinkler system and this took about 2 weeks because the sprinkler heads were, 44.18 each, and the pipes an fitings were about 12.00 dollars for each head, after covering everthing up i then mowed the lawn on the east front side of the house and i ran over cable that was not put in the ground and the cable wraped around my new lawn mower around the bladdes and distroyed the motor in the lawn mower, so i then go down and buy another one 3600.00 dollars and there is cable just thrown on the ground down the driveway going south down the driveway on the west side next to the 3 doors for the garage and the cable was not conected just cut up and thrown on the groung in the grass about 12 ft and when the mower picked it with the blades, it was wipping cable back an forth to the point where i jumped off the mower and the mower engine blew up and cought on fire, so i then got a used mower for 500.00 dollars and i still ues this now, there's cable on the west side front thats never been put under ground that i never seen becaused of the leaves from the tree, and it was almost dark and it started to rain an i was in the driveway at my next door neighbor's house, i started to walk fast over to my mailbox and my friend next door was wathcing me move very quick and my riight foot locked under the internet cable and i went down face first and smacked my forehead on the concreat driveway, i went down very fast, but stopped myself with both hands but i couldn't stop my head from hitting the driveway, the next day my friend seem me and asked me if i was ok and i told him yes, but his reply was , i looked like someone hit me across the forehead with a baseball bat but when a guy came out to my house, i showed him all the cable that was left there and i took him upstairs and showed him all the damage but he didn't fix anything because i told him that cable belongs to me and his compamy Brighthouse needs to talk to me, owner of this house, because there going to pay for all they did, plus i am Cherokee and my property is Indian land , Granted by the Cherokee Nation, and they were trespassing because there are signs on the east and west side of my house, one other topic, everyone i have talked to in Lake County has had so many problems with brighthouse and this topic is very large because they have a Monopoly in about 18 county's that they think that they can do what ever they want to and it's time for the Citizens to take a stand against a dis-honest company, and now i don't have Brighthouse----My House is Now Brighter Then it Has Ever Been--if an Attorney wants to contact me that will protect my civil rights because this has been going on now for 9 years and still nothing done.
