I started at Bottomleys in May of 2013 and was straight out of school. In two weeks I was running loads to Maryland and DC and then started running West Coast runs teaming. Less than a month into my West Coast runs, I began running Solo runs to West Coast and would come in and would be asked to run local runs for them. The whole time I was being told that when my year was up, I would receive a cent raise and yet when that year was up, I was told "I was lying and that was never said." I ran my butt off for this greedy company and did my best possible to show them that I was a serious driver who had paid for my own schooling out of my pocket and chose this job as a career move not just some "fly-by-night" joker. The company has it's own "click" of drivers it will take care of and will tell you anything to get you to run run run. There is a lot of lies and deceit within the foundation of this company and would not recommend anyone getting tied up in their web of deceit. They send their recruiter to local driving schools and promise that on average, a driver can make over $1000.00 a week and I never saw it. They make you deliver your loads on the way home at the very last minute because they dont pay their local drivers enough to keep them. They play politics with the drivers on a weekly basis. If you need time off, it is an act of Congress to get it and then when you come back, they put you on crap runs and wont pay layovers or detention pay. I really thought this place was a decent company until I realized that they were full of themselves and every one in the office is full of lies and like I said earlier, will tell you anything to get you to run run run.
