I was told it was an "easy to cancel" policy when I signed up. I even went as far as to ask, "So I can just call and cancel or stop paying when I want to end the membership?"
So later on I wanted to cancel verbally with the manager months ago (August). They did not comply with my request. It seems they will say anything to get you to sign that contract. They do not provide an easy method, save for going down there and canceling. They could very well provide that option through ABC Financial but they are hoping that you forget so that they are "legally" (I use that term losely) within the contract stipulations. So G-d forbid you become injured and aren't able to back out of the contract in time. They will continue to bill you even if you're on your death bed!
August 2014-Called manager to cancel account. He did NOT provide me with an adequate method to cancel my account. I have a work related injury and I did not have the wherewithal or the presence of mind at the time in order to cancel. I was the victim of a hit and run accident which resulted in a head injury. Ever since then I have had difficulty concentrating or even completing simple tasks. It is imperative that this issue be resolved.
September 2014-Billed my card anyway even though I called and told them to cancel.
November 2014-They are continuing to bill and now I can't cancel the account. How convenient for them. You can't pay so now the amount just keeps increasing.
