We had purchased a sectional sofa set at Bob's 2 years ago and the salesperson insisted it was a good idea for us to buy an extended warranty thru them to another so called outside Company(Guardian)Goof Proof. they even had a nice little catch phrase for it. So when I came home from work the other day, I noticed a pungent smell walking into our house. I knew something wasn't right, the smell was coming from the living room and traced it down to the sectional sofa. We have 2 cats and they both have their own boxes in the basement which they use daily. But to our surprise we noticed it was on the sofa. At some point that day the cat or cats had urinated on the sofa,(big disappointment, it was a nice sofa)So my wife tried to call the extended warraty people and got the run around and tried to tell her there was too much damage for them to repair(Really). Frustrated with them she called me and I was going to try and call them to get some satisfactory results with this extended warranty that we purchased for such incidents, which Bob's Salesperson stated that this may happen with pets and kids. Anyway I couldn't get through to these warranty people(go figure, when you screw people over, I wouldn't answwer the phone either). So I called Bob's directly, to get some answers.
I spoke with the first lady and she said she understood my problem and insisted the Guardian-Goof Proof people should have started and filed a claim so we can get our sofa fixed or cleaned. But she claimed she spoke directly to the warranty Liason-yeah right- and said the claim was to large and our cats must be using our sofa as a litter box(way to go Bob's insult the people that give you money). I told her sorry I don't live in cat feces and urine(actually I can't stand cats). Anyway got absolutely no where with her since she now knew it would cost money to fix this. From what i can take from it the cat urine was across 3 of the cushions nad on the back of 2 of them(must of gotten startled by something and could only imagine just got up bolted and urinated. but to them since it was on more than 1 initial cushion, this was a repeat incident, and they won't cover it. I said what kind of fraudulent business are ytou people running. I have an incident/accident from an animal(which is clearly covered by extended warranty) but you don't want to honor it because it was to big of an accident. That to me is an act of FRAUD. You promise to take care of your customer, then when a problem arises, you want to unjustify it's means by cost. That is wrong and poor customer service. She did offer to sell me replacement cushions at $80 a pop with 5 cushions that's almost a new couch, and I asked her how I was going to replace the sewn in ones(SORRY) well sorry aint going to cut it this time.
