Tom Leykis has been a radio personality foy many years. For the last serveral years, he has made his advice to young men about dating and how to run their life a cornerstone of his radio programs. When Tom was on the airwaves in Los Angeles, starting in 1994, He used to start his show by saying his show is the only radio talk show that is "not hosted by a right-wing Wacko or a convicted Felon", referencing to fellow radio personalities Rush Limbaugh and G. Gordon Liddy. But he stopped saying that when it became well known that the only reason HE is not a convicted Felon is because of a plea deal he made in a case where his fourth wife, Susan Drew Leykis, filed a police report against him. She told the police that Leykis assaulted her and threatened to kill her during a fight after they returned home from a radio station Christmas party. She ended up with scrathces all over her face and a knot on her head the size of a golf ball.
The police say that and he was charged with two crimes. The FELONY of "assault and battery" and then "threatening to commit a crime". In the deal, Leykis was sentenced to a year of probation and ordered to attend a domestic violence class. He completed both, so the charges were dropped. But he is the closest thing you can be to a Felon without actually technically being one. So he finally stopped saying that at the beginning of his shows.
Leykis gives relationship advice on his show and he says one thing to others and then runs his own life differently, making him a Hypocrite in MY opinion. He tells men to never get married under any circumstances EVER. However, it is publically known that he has been married and divorced four times. One of those times was to Christina Gonzalez, the Fox 11 News TV Reporter who he found out was cheating on him when he found Hotel reciepts that she had. So he could not keep her happy either. He tells men that there is NEVER EVER any excuse to have sex without a condom. But then he boasts on his program all the time that he has paid for at least four abortions.
If you call Tom on his show and confront him about his past and ask how and why he can give advice when he runs his own life differently, he will call you names and hang up on you. He did just that to a Seattle man and when Tom went out to a bar and all nighter type joint, he was attacked outside and he was kicked in the face and knocked down to the ground, causing him to require 17 stitches over one eye, and leaving him with scratches and bruises on his knees. Tom refused to press charges against the man, which kind of makes me think that Tom doesn't blame him for what he did.
Tom still continues to run an internet based radio show under the name of a company he created called The New Normal Network LLC. The Producers of the show are Gary Zabransky and Dean "Deano" DeMilio, both boast on-air that they are users of Marijuana and Cocaine. Tom totally condones this kind of behavior on his show. Makes me wonder what kind of advice THAT is to give to young men! When Tom is doing his segents on relationship advice, he says he is "The Professor" and that this advice is called "Leykis 101". As if it is a college course. He also has Listeners call him "Dad" as if he gives them the advice that their Dad should have given them. The main content of the instruction is all about some basic rules: 1. Don't ever get married under any circumstances. 2. Never date a single Mother. 3. Never allow a female to live with you. 4. NEVER have sex without a condom. 5. Cut off all communications with a Woman after you have sex with her or as soon as she issues an untimatum. 6. Never spend more than $40 on a date or for any other reason. Leykis says women are "dream killers" He says that in relationships, women will typically prioritize their desires above a mans and will actively discourage men's ambitions for fear of him leaving the relationship if he attains success. Tom does give some good advice. But one of my problems with him is that he says one thing and does another and then lies to people and makes them think like he is also running his life the same way.
Another thing that upsets me about Tom is that he urges men to live frugally and to avoid debt or loans which is what he describes as "renting money". He says to never pay for anything that you can get for free, including when referring to sex with women. He says that men who spend their money on things they could get for free otherwise or for things that are not completely necessary are immoral. And then practically with the same breath, he asks listeners to his radio show (which is free and over the internet) to pay $199.00 for a yearly "subscription" in which he offers Members the opportunity to listen to his show any time they want, 24 hours a day over the internet with the advertising cut out. Anyone can listen like this for free but non payers have to hear the audio with the advertising included. He calls Listeners who pay the $199.00 "P1's" He says that this stands for Passionate 1, which he says is a radio indutry term describing someone who listens to his show every day without fail, someone who uses all of his advertisers when they need a product or service and someone who shows up at all of the bar functions that Tom occasionally holds where people have to pay an additional $50 just for the pleasure of being in the same place of business as Tom. Occasionally one of his Sponsors to his show will show up such as Scam Artist Liar and basic Asshole Attorney Adam Sacks. That guy has had so many complaints of inethical Lawyer practices against him, that the Department of Consumer Affairs would not send me copies of the written complaints for free like they usually do because there was so many. But Tom still takes his money for advertising because Tom also has no morals whatsoever and no ethics.
All of the information that i provided here is all redily available on the internet on the first page of any Google seach in Tom's name and also you can listen to his show and verify that he does and says thing things that I have stated here. I make my statements here as an exercise of my First Ammendment Rights as well as for Consumer protection.
