Just reviewed my VISA account and found a $190.00+ charge from something called Blast Fitness. Apparently the good folks at Blast thought they would resurect a long-dead Bally's account, for a gym that is no longer physically present, and sign me up for a year's worth of fun at their facility - without my knowledge or consent.
They use a 3rd party billing company which also serves as a firewall for complaints about their fraudulent practices. Kayla, the unfortunate soul who took my call was actually quite helpful, engineering a refund for the majority of charges and cancelling my account. The term ""majority of charges"" is instructive in that Blast was allowed to bill me for 1 month of ""service"" - since I didn't catch 'em in time. If you were ever a Bally's customer, rest assured they have sold your info to these pirates and you will likely be creating a Ripoff Report profile just like me. Don't let them take all your money.
