The same thing happened to me that has happened to the previous posted. The "Company" is demanding that I pay a "customs brand tax" of $79.00. The odd thing is that they included the "shipping" in their total. They state that the "Brand Tax" is 90%. I paid them $68.00 for items that I purchased. Plus $20.00 shipping. They took the total of $88.and applied the 90% tax. So they are saying that the 90% also applies to the shipping cost! Wrong, there is no "Brand Tax" and even it there was, using their 90% figure, the amount of the tax would be: $68.00 * 90% = $61.20. Unless they honor their agreement with me I would recommend that no one do business with them.
Their minimum order was $100, so I only ordered 1item for $118, and paid by Western Union. The account beneficiary was Hailin Wei, Room 605, East 9th Building, 83 Fuxing Road, Haidian District, Beijing, China. A couple days after payment was made, I received an "urgent" email stating "i'm really sorry to tell you,just now we have check with agent, they said the package was detain at the customs due to the customs restrictly checking ,all package been opened and checked one by one finally they found that the brand products in the package, they require you pay $106.00s tax,(90% for your order) without tax they won’t release the package ,hope your understanding please arrange $106.00 within 72 hours, then we can talk with custom guy and go ahead the shipping, thank you".
The contact person's name was Niki. Her Skype contact number :+8613430968588. I told them to refund my payment. Their response was "this is the accident,some time the customs check sometime not,the customs found that the brand products in the package,so they charge the brand tax we really don't want this happened ,but now this happened,the most we can do is just together to slove this problem ,hope you can understand! but really sorry now your money are just purchase for your goods! and now your goods are detained by the customs, It is impossible for us refund your money.
products has been delivery, but now the customs detain your items, All customers have to pay taxes,not only you,really sorry the customs need your receipt, so we can't pay for your,sorry without tax in 3 days customs will detain the items forever ,hope your understanding after you pay the tax,you can get your items in 2 days
Hope you can reconsider and pay the tax asap Sorry again, pls understand!"
After checking, there is no "brand tax" on exports.
