Big dawg fence riped off my deposit.he got me really good because there actually is a big dog fence company ( he just changed the spelling from dog to dawg ) after he had my deposit and dint show to build my fence or return my calls i begin to look into him and was floored at how stupid i was.he does not have a legit business and thats why he asked for cash because he wouldnt have been able to cash the check that i wanted to write him.he is not listed on sunbiz.org the legal government website that all legit businesses are listed on.i not only feal bad for myself, but bad for the poor guy that runs the legit big dog fence thats based out of wesley chapel florida and he is really running this guys business in the ground or soon will.
i not only want my money back but i wish that some type of legal action would be takin to prevent this from happening to somebody else.im alot smarter now and learned my lesson and if i could go back in time i wish i would have made him look like a CLOWN and asked for his sunbiz number, workers comp card, liability insurance, and his drivers licence to verify that his name matches public records as him not being the owner his adds are all over craigslist and look pretty good i will give him that, but as far as being a decent person i give him nothing.
i wait for his turn in line to ride karma.i am a disabled vetern and on a fixed income and i saved the money for that fence for 3 years !! anyway please do your homework and dont fall victim to his trap.his name is vincent olemon and is a very good con man.attached is a pic of the real big dog fence company and please be careful.....the misspelling will lead you to believe his business is legit.
I was shopping for some very specific and hard to find items for a project. I called several places and nobody had them in stock or at a reasonable price. When I called Big Dawg Fence, I spoke with Vince who assured me he had the parts I was looking for. I asked him to please double-check to be sure they were the exact ones I was looking for, and he responded by acting like my question was not only ridiculous but also offensive. I felt stupid for asking at that point and figured that he knew his own inventory like the back of his hand.
I told him that I would be driving from the other side of Tampa, which is over an hours drive away, so I needed to really be sure. Again, he assured me he had the items in stock. As I was driving there a classic Florida rainstorm hit. So between the rain and beginings of early rush hour traffic, it took just about two hours to get to his place in Holiday.
When I finally arrived, he took me into his shop and in the back here there was a sealed box on the counter. He said the that the parts were in it and ready to go. Something about the blank and non-descript packaging didn't seem right to me. So I asked if I could look in the box first. He said he didn't have a way to open to box, but I had a box cutter in my car. I went and grabbed that and came back to open the box, and he was acting a little weird.
So I start to open it up and he gets a call on his cell and walks away to deal with that. When I get it open and look in the box, I see that the parts are NOT the ones I wanted and just drove two hours in the rain in rush hour to buy. Instead they were low quality generic knock-offs. The parts I was after cost around $400, and the ones he was trying to sell me for that price were barely worth $100, if that.
I went up to him, being highly annoyed at this point, and he rudely said that if I didn't want the parts then someone else would. Then with that he turned around, walked back into his office, and slammed the door. Not only is this really bad business practice to lie, decieve, and attempt to scam a customer, but then he handled the whole thing like a spoiled child when he angrily stormed off.
So yeah, he wastes a good portion of my day, my time, my energy, and my gas, by lying to me and trying to rip me off, and then he has the nerve to act all offended when he gets called out on it. That is so ridiclous I do not even know where to begin. Talk about immature. Wow. And then after all of that nonsense, I had to drive back home. Luckily the rain had stopped, but by then rush hour was in full effect on wet slick roads.
I use to work for Big Dawg and wanted to tell people a thing or two before you have Big Dawg come out. I moved out of state to start my own restaurant business and left Big Dawg back in 2011. Owning a restaurant business and offering quality food and taking care of my customers are my number one goal, so anything below that would bother me; this is why I wanted to write this review about Big Dawg. Here’s some good info for customers to think about first before you have Big Dawg come out. High reviews that you find with this company are just plain out bogus. They claim to offer such “great work”, but the owner of Big Dawg is just your typical Clearwater drug addict trying to make a quick buck. Yea, they might be cheaper than most companies out there, BUT they order cheap china fencing and presents a bogus booklet to customers during a quote claiming that his fence is “USA” made and offers a “lifetime warranty” on the fence. This is bogus by all means. The fence you see when they come out is NOT what you will be getting. Your fence might look pretty once they get done putting it up, BUT give it about 2-6 months and you will start to see the fence sag and gates bow in. WHY? Because the fence is very cheaply made, along with them not using concrete on any of the post or gates for reinforcement and I asked Big Dawg once why they don’t use concrete on the fencing post or gates, the response were “to make more profit from the job and to get the job done quicker.”
