I had advertised for contractors to apply for a water works project at my cabin, installing a water pump in the lake and running the lines up to the trailer in April 2014
Andy Strauch owner of Bg A Contracting applied and stated
"We are going to get started as planned on Monday May 12/2014, the materiel is arriving today I'm hoping this will work for a contract
Big A construction will install a water line and pump system from 25-30 out in the lake up the stairs and into a pressure tank. We will complete all the required wiring and plumbing to make the system operational. The water line and conduit containing the wire will secured to the underside of the stair case leading to the water, at the top of stair case the lines will be ran underground. All permitting and inspections will be provided by the property owner in property owners name. The total cost for project is 2672.80 plus tax 1087.59 is required as a deposit to start the project with the remaining balance due within ten days of job completion. All parts and labor is covered under a 1 year warranty with the exception of the pump which carries a manufacture warranty.
A certified deposit was send out of $1087.59 via express and cashed into hos back account.
The project was never started, and after numerous phone calls and emails,Andrew Strauch stated he has broken his leg and is in hospital and send a photo of a xray.
Communications on when he would get going was getting less frequent and at one point on June 14Th after I asked for a full refund
Andy since I haven't heard back from you in over two weeks I've decided that the fact you cannot respond in a timely considerate manner, I no longer want you to do my water intake project.
Please get back to me today and let me know how fast I can expect my full return plus the express cost of sending the funds of $40.00.
This notice will stand as a document that I legally have now requested for a full return, I await your prompt reply.
Andy Strauch Replies:
"Im sorry that you feel that way I will refund your deposit as soon as I am able to get the materials retuned to the suppliers. I will not refund the $40 for shipping that you are asking for and if there are any restocking fees those to must come out of the deposit. I will contact all the suppliers on Monday and get the return process under way. Again I am sorry you feel this way we where looking forward to starting on Monday stated he would get going on June 17th."
I asked him to produce the bill for the water pump to which never materialized and he has never replied to my demands of a refund since.
