I ordered a 1/6 HP motor fan for my unit to be shipped on a 2nd day delivery and I received 1/3 HP fan motor instead. I called that business and had Amanda Hamilton on the phone (also from AmericanHVACparts.com) and was told that I received a working motor and no refund allowed base on their own policy. She told me that I received the equivalent motor and what I need to do is cut the long shaft, change the wiring configuration and would have get a third party technician to get the work done.
After multiple calls and emails exchanges, Amada Hamilton told me the motor advertized is on a back order and the one I received is a working 1/3 HP replacement.
She proposed to have a replacement and a 1/6 HP but I will have to wait another week since the 1/6 HP is a back order and I will have to assume the return fees. The only reason I bought from this business was for the time delivery and did not accepted her proposition. Especially that I will have to pay the return shipment fees for their mistakes.
Since Amanda Hamilton was someone unable and to deal with, I had to get from another vendor a 1/6 HP motor which I received the next day. I have young children and could not wait any longer to get the heat back in the house in this cold winter. It took me only 15 minutes to installed the motor without any mechanical or electrical modification.
Another proposition from Amanda Hamilton was to get a refund minus 25% restocking fees. On top of it , I will still have to pay for the return shipment fees as well. I am seriously thinking about asking for legal help against such practice. Business policy could not be on top of the law protecting consumers. They cannot sell a product that they don't have and just take your money!
It is not the first time I read about complains against that Amanda Hamilton lady on the net and all the HVAC online business she seems to be associate to. Someone need to stop that!
