I am not saying that everything that has happened the last few years is because of bcti but I look at it like this. If we attend school and don't pay we can be sued our wages garnished our taxes taken band from getting finanical aid because of there showings and more. We suffer if we vouch on our signed documents correct? Why should it be any different for them it should actually be worse. They used the governments funds to lure people who had plans to be less of a burden on the government by getting real jobs in a fast growing field and in the end all that happened was that they made us have to fall back on welfare and bad credit ratings worse then we had before.
I have usefull information regarding; Student loans, BCTI's prior class action lawsuit, and the Department of Education.
Like a lot of you, my wife and I too had made the mistake of talking to BCTI. It was simple: Fill out these forms, pick a time to go to school, and you would be well on your way. Well for me - after I signed up for school at BCTI I was involved in a major car accident and had to spend some time in the hospital learning how to walk again. Consequently, I withdrew from the school & my girlfriend (now wife) did the same.
The outcome of all of this: My wife and I currently owe over $22,000.00 dollars to the Department of Education and are currently in default on our student loans. Apparently when we withdrew from BCTI, BCTI did not submit our ""formal withdraw"" nor did they refund our student loan money back to the Department of Education.
I have personnaly been trying to clear up this matter with the DOE (Department of Education) for many years now. I contacted my state's office of Student Records in order to obtain my wife and I's attendence records, to show that the school should have never kept the tuition it was given on our behalf - I then received correspondence back stating: ""Due to BCTI not keeping accurate records, we can neither confirm nor deny that these individuals ever attended schooling at this institution."" I have also spoken to the DOE extensively in regards to the previous class action lawsuit that was filed against BCTI for fraudulent behavior and the fact that no one has any confirmation of my wife or I ever attending BCTI - it fell on deaf ears. Still trying to get somewhere with this mess, I then submitted confirmation to the DOE with documentation, to wit: my ""Attendence Letter"" from my states Student Records Department, records of the dates that I was in the hospital & what injuries I sustained - proving that I could and did not attend the school, as well as, my girlfriend/ wife had withdrawn in order to become my caregiver because of the extent of my injuries, BCTI's attendence outlines and guidlines for early withdrawl - stating that they would provide tuition refunds for certain hardships, and a letter with definitive dates and times - providing an outline as to why BCTI should be heald accountable for the money owed to the DOE and not my wife and I cause we were not there. Again, it fell on deaf ears! I received a letter stating that we still owe the money, and how did I want to pay.
